I love Tri.Be's Diamond, it's such a nice, kinda unusual, very chill sound. Though it always makes me sad listening to it, because of Shinsadong Tiger's passing. Watching the girls promote this right after his death was heartbreaking every time.

(G)i-dle - Wife: This is the kind of rare/unique case where the short length of the song fits it really well! Fan Fact: This song was banned from Korean broadcasts, because of “sexually explicit lyrics” (G)i-dle - Super Lady: This song gives me so 2nd generation vibes!! Both the music video and song, I love it! SoYeon was praised for her excelent vocal performance there, because it is super hard to be able to sing it. Which is interesting regarding the fact she is not the main vocal of the group… in general their positions are kind of all over the place here, because Minnie has there rap/talk rapping parts. The Cruella outfit suits Yuqi so so much!! The song and mainly the music video are really “into your face”, so it shocked me every time I watched it and although I still cannot rank how I like this comeback compared to the previous ones, I appreciate the budget value in it! I mean, Cube is aware of the fact this group is currently their only big thing, so they are not afraid of putting the money into them! I am super curious about their renewal, which is in about a year… (G)i-dle - Revenge: Here just one simple thing… If I remember correct, there is (again) reference to SooJin, in the hall scene, there is “unknown” sixth person there… Yuqi - Could It Be: This song… 🥹🥹 This song was performed by her as an unreleased song during their tour last year! And I liked it so much that I thought: “Although I do want the studio version to be released, at the same time… wouldn’t be somehow magical to keep this song as the “concert-only” memory?” So I was fully okay with it never being released, but it happened!! 😻😻 It is a pre-release to her upcoming mini album, which will be released by the end of April!

Young Posse… I initially wanted to keep everything in one comment, but this needs to be in its own!! This is the concept I would like for Teddy’s upcoming The Black Label Girl Group to have! But I’ll get to that by the end of this comment… As someone, who keeps Kara in a speacial place of my heart, I had to notice and pay attention to a new girl group coming of DSP Media! When I found out they are co-produced with some Beats Ent., I got confused, because although the name of DSP Media declined during the past decade, they are under RBW, so they don’t need to team up with another label (which is kind of no name…) to debut a group. But I still wanted to give it a try and with Macaroni Cheese, I was like: “Okay, never mind. It’s just not for me…” Because I was super confused with this concept and idea in general. Like I wasn’t able to even guess what is the goal they were aiming for with this. But after a few months, I got a message from a friend of mine saying: “Dude, YOU WILL LOVE THIS SONG… I know you didn’t like their debut, neither did I, but this samples Seo Taiji and Boys’ Come Back Home and it is all in the way of Korean 90s hip hop” And well, Seo Taiji & Boys (and also the 90s of Korean Hip Hop scene) is always the selling point for me, so I immediately played it and… the amount of time I have replayed this song, since it was released, is crazy!! I mean, the title of the magazine there, which is the cover for this mini album, phrases it perfectly: “Rookie of the year?” - Hell yeah!! 34:30 - That’s one reference to the original Seo Taiji and Boys’ choreography and then at 34:53 there’s the iconic dance move (to show which iconid dance move, wait like 15 seconds… https://youtu.be/u_EOYPRtrxI?si=y2otJQW0DutuR1D8) By the way, before the comeback with XXL they released remixed version of “Posse Up!” (their b-side), which is called “Young Posse Up”, where they brought 3 extra featuring rappers Verbal Jint, NSW yoon and Token (it has a music video as well). To your statement questioning how much the young girls themselves are aware of what the concept actually is/how they are influenced by that on their own… I cannot speak for all of them, because I am still getting into them, but at least Sunhye (the one with the shortest hairstyle/the one who was ordering the food at the very beginning) is really into hip hop and she has the “true rapper blood” in her veins! Now back to the topic of why I would like Teddy’s upcoming girl group to be kind of like this. I mentioned it before that with the 4th generation Kpop reached to its “final form” and now with the 5th generation (whether it will be counted from 2023 or 2024) we got back to the beginning and the cycle of evolution has started again, but this time in the global realm. Basically what I am saying is that the 5th generation is like the 1st generation, but with the reality/truth of having the 4 generations as the “starting point/baseline”, which means we are already starting in the global sphere. So based on that we can somehow predict/assume what is yet to come. Which got me thinking: “During the first generation there was a group, which wasn’t really the typical Kpop group, because they were debuted by a hip hop label, but they were treated as a Kpop group, which was 1TYM” To phrase it simply… 1TYM was a hip hop group thrown to the Kpop scene, which affected the hip hop element in Kpop even more than it was before. And so… as someone who fully agrees with this statement: “Time is a flat circle” I am eagerly waiting for the “1TYM-like”group of the fifth generation to come! And obviously it would make perfect sense for Teddy to make a girl group under his own label in this way…

i love this format so much pd, omg, this is a feast for me😭lmao. artms really went beyond my expectations, if someone could bring experimental sounds back into kpop ofc it would be loona, heejins acting like you said, haseuls vocals, that shot of kim lip, ALL YERIM SCENES, oh my god we are so BACK, thank god they're working with digipedi again, there's nothing really sad ab the debut but i CRIED watching it. i knew you would love chungha's cb, and you're right, this was a "cutting off her leash" type of concept, i believe eenie meenie was inspired in rosalia's theme for her album "motomami" something that was like a big turn in her career, chungha is doing the same since it's her first cb after being free from mnh. in the i'm ready mv there's a shot where she takes out a piece of a mask, creating the silhouette of her past logo which used to be a waxing crescent moon, kpop idols tend to have a representative animal or thing, for chungha it was the moon, through out the video they use black and dark blue for her outfits, there was a few shots with a grey/white outfit (in my opinion that represents transition) but it was mostly those colors, by that, to me it's like she's leaving the moon behind and now she became the night, i felt the same lowkey synister vibes that you mention and i haven't seen anyone talk about it so you just game me some validation for my theory lol, she was fierce and carefree in both mv's and she has always been like that but it feels so different here, and i think that has a connection through symbolism of her being "night" instead of a moon, i just yapped tf out of this jesus😭lmao hope i explained myself a little at least. i love when kpop artists do things for the sake of art, and in this drop there's a lot of great examples but artms and chungha are my personal favorites right now, kpop without women would be soooo boring, they bring the most interesting and creative concepts and music to the scene, this sounds hella cheesy but i just feel so full of love watching female artists do their craft and by your reactions today i feel like you can somewhat relate to that as well, thanks for the reactions pd! you made my day🕺

Chung Ha & More Vision: You said pretty much everything I wanted to say regarding Chung Ha leaving her previous label and what it means for More Vision that she signed up with them. But regarding More Vision themselves… When Jay Park announced another label of his, I was like: “Hmm… new label, again? Okay…” But when I found out this label would be focused on the Kpop market/scene, I started to wonder what is Jay Park about to do… like to debut a Kpop group? (Which was correct by the way… they has started to do auditions for that). But in this case… what to expect right? And how the group/idols will be handled? With Jessi joining this label (and soon leaving) I thought it made sense for Jessi and Jay Park to come together, but I wasn’t sure whether she fits the vision (haha) of this label and in general I feel like she as a person has been lately not really sure what she truly wants, both in her career and private life. Like people were hating on P Nation because she left/didn’t renew, which I thought was stupid from those people to hate on them, because well… she has been in the industry for a while and it is natural to move somewhere else… she didn’t sue P Nation to be able to leave… (the same goes for Dawn and HyunA, it is understandable to try a new place). But that’s off topic, simply… Jessi is different case and it’s not easy to say/assume anything from that. On the other hand with Chung Ha! I thought this could be interesting and it can show a lot what we can expect in the future from More Vision, both as a label in general and also what kind of group we might get. And this comeback of hers makes me really interested and maybe even hyped for more from More Vision (😎😎)

Hey pd! You should check out tripleS, they released a single last December to welcome the new four members (17-20) with "Just Do It" by tripleS NXT which only comes with a performance video. They also had a comeback with their first ballad group called tripleS Aria with "Door" and its bside "Farewell my First" which were really good, I recommend!

You mentioned that the Super Lady MV looks like it had a big budget increase over I-DLE's previous MVs. That's because Soyeon wanted it to be bigger than Cube was willing to pay for, so Soyeon paid half of the MV's budget out of her own pocket.

In the Super Lady video the characters they portray are: Minnie=Medusa, Shuhua=Marie Antoinette, Yuqi=Cruella De Vil, Miyeon=Cleopatra, Soyeon=one of the greek goddesses, debate on if it is Artmeis, Gaia, or Athena. Artemis and Gaia both have scorpions as part of their myths and Athena is obviously the Warrior Goddess.
