It's here!!! Part 1 of the newest interview with Elon Musk at Starbase! SOME RULES BEFORE WATCHING!!! PLEASE READ 

1. ABSOLUTELY no sharing, screen-shotting, screen-recording, or leaks of information. LEGAL ACTION will be pursued if we see any information or images leaked from this preview  

2. Please comment directly in Frame.io at the timestamp of your feedback (if you have some) about specific glitches or errors. At this point I've done everything I can with the audio, so please only give feedback if you notice an actual render glitch, or something misspelled etc etc. Please note, this is a relatively low quality render, the official one on YouTube will be in higher quality (less compression)

Thank you Tim. I love the part where you can see his mind working and you just let there be silence while he thinks. And I remember from the first interview seeing the light bulb go off when talking about the gas thrusters.

Tim!! GUYS, just there’s no vocabulary to express how amazing this kind of access is and how incredible it is to hear how Elon thinks and solves problems. I mean, the way he iterates rapidly and focuses on the right problems, and can flexibly postpone optimization until future iterations. It’s just such a massive contrast to creating a monolithic design, and then just hoping for the best with giant committees for each potential change at snail’s pace with massive budgetary overruns. He takes the state of the art software approaches and takes it to the next level on next level engineering projects, and he’s doing it faster and cheaper than anyone before. Just effing brilliant. Elon is forging a legacy that will burn as long as the light of consciousness remains lit. What are the chances that you are someone alive at the right time with the means to see it unfold in front of us with our own eyes. In-fricking-credible. Thank you to Elon and the entire team supporting Tim.

The audio quality is excellent Tim. We expect it to be a little noisy. Actually some of us look forward to it. What could be better than rocket nerds talking rockets, while the rockets are being built, and the design is changing in Elons head as we watch. Amazing. Sooo much better than a sit down or Zoom interview with a host who knows nothing about the topic. These interviews really are a significant piece of history. Obviously we all have massive respect for Elon and the SpaceX team. The same goes for you and your team, and the dedication that has allowed you to reach this level of access and professionalism. Now I’m off to Google videos on industrial pallet stackers to see how the PEZ works😉

Super pumped to watch this, and I'm grateful for your stellar interview skills and the access you have. I gotta say though careful not to get too entitled to this type of content. Clearly you own it and have the legal right to protect it, but I think if you press that too hard it will come off wrong since the primary reason folks are interested is what Elon is bringing to the table, and it's in his interest to widely disseminate it.

I'm just curious what happened in the past to put "legal action" in all caps. I feel like a "few bad apples" moment is going to lead to "this is why we can't have nice things" moment. I hope not. But this is super heavy handed, especially to your supporters.

It is Tim's career and hard work that puts him in a position to share this type of view into Spacex and the world of Elon. Exclusivity is a very critical and hard-fought element of releases like this which support his line of work.

Excellent part one of interview Two. Two things struck me in particular: 1) Interview One highlighted the characteristics of SpaceX's engineering paradigm. This first part of Interview Two highlights (some of) the engineering challenges that SpaceX is grappling with today. That is in and of itself extraordinary; I know of no other private company that discusses in public the challenges they are grappling with in real time. Conventional wisdom says that gives your competitors a leg up competing. For whatever reason (be it such a huge lead over the competition that it doesn't matter and/or a recognition that helping the competition helps make humanity multi-planetary), SpaceX offers extraordinary access. At the same time, it is clear that SpaceX is keeping somethings secret (note the comment mid interview NOT to film the interior of Starship). Thus there are clear limits on how "public" SpaceX is prepared to be. 2) The interview demonstrates that while the SpaceX engineering paradigm is iterative with focus on the next essential engineering accomplishment (at this time getting to LEO with the booster and starship), that Musk and SpaceX have a well defined appreciation of eventual engineering changes in how challenges are addressed. This goes way beyond "optimization" of an existing engineering solution, to a determination of whether the existing solution is the best way forward in the long run. Absolutely fascinating.

Thanks Tim. As a retired environmental engineer and registered mechanical engineer, this looks like a really fun project of building the space transportation system for the future. Elon must be having a ball figuring out all the tech details. Thank goodness we have him pushing the project. He makes it happen.

Curious to know what the goal for eventual Starship production numbers. How many Starships does Elon want to be able to crank out in a year?

Tim, Next time you speak with Elon would you ask him if there is a plan for more than one launch control center? It seems with Spacex ability to launch frequently, there will be a need for a second center soon.
