"Refuses to ask the rest of the group, who incidentally, is entirely composed of men" --- She hasn't peed since before her two hiking partners woke up that morning, and she wasn't planning to pee again until after they had set up camp that night --- after her companions were sound asleep.  That worked out yesterday, when they started and only hiked for half the day... but today is a full day of hiking!  

Now she's at her limit, but they've made it to the ridge; even if she wanted to admit that she badly needed to go, there hasn't been a lick of privacy for the past thousand feet of altitude!  XD
