Time to talk about the Simbro remake! I've been secretly working on this for a while now, and it has taken everything in me not to talk about it until I had something to show. So without further ado, let's get into what to expect with this revamp!

So, unlike the rnot2000 revamps, this project is a huge undertaking. I virtually have nothing to work with in terms of art or anything else. I'm starting from zero, and it will take time to get the game to where I want it to be. But enough of that, let's talk about everything in more detail.

Art
As you may have noticed, the art is vastly different from the original. We didn't just use the old art or "improve apon it" because the original art belongs to an artist (Playshapes, I think) who has since revoked the free use licence. I wanted to respect that and decided that a new "modern" art style would work best for this project.

Story
For those who have played the game, you may remember that the story and translations were not well done. Although somewhat thought out, the story felt rushed and didn't have a ton of pacing. For this reason, we plan to hire writers to improve the existing story. We don't want to change many things, but we want to make the story more engaging. For now, we are going to stick to the original story and script for the sake of getting a demo released.

Gameplay
Honestly, the gameplay was something that many players felt was done well. The game featured many mechanics that people seemed to adore. We plan to keep all the mechanics in the game. I see things that need a ton of improvement (like the combat and brothel management systems), but I can't imagine the game without the original mechanics. With that said, this will be the most challenging part of this undertaking. Why? You ask. Unlike the Story and Art, the mechanics are hidden behind a poorly written flash game. I've decompiled the original game to look at the code, which is terrible. I honestly can't understand any of the code, which is not ideal. I'm sure I'll be able to mimic the original gameplay, but I can guarantee that it won't be precisely the same as the original.

Improvements
As someone who got into programming due to the frustration of playing other people's buggy and unpolished games, I have a lot of things I want to improve on. I want to add quality of life improvements to navigating the map and managing your "staff". I also want to make the combat system more in-depth by adding more abilities and making the stats play a more significant part. All in all, I have big plans to not only improve on SimBros but to bring it to a fully finished game that you'll want to play multiple times.

I hope everyone is looking forward to SimBro resErection. If you haven't played the original, give it a try on Newgrounds or look it up on google. As always, let me know what you think by leaving a comment and thank you for your continued support and patience.
