So I picked up a number of 3X4 cradled wood panels, sealed and primed them awhile back. I like painting on this size for art shows because 3X4 painting doesn't take me a lot of time and it also isn't a wall space eater. I find small originals tend to get more noticed than large ones.  But with that they often become head shots.

Obviously these are super rough sketch concepts. ;P

I realized I haven;t painted a hyena for awhile, they are next to cats on my favourite animals.
I adore striped and brown hyenas. I tend to like animals that in most mythology gets a bad and misunderstood reps.
I really like the brown hyena and noticing it's similar to the striped in pose so if I were to make both they would be DRASTIC colour scheme differences as I imagine the brown hyena in a dried out/dusty background as the wind blows. The striped I was thinking at night/lighting storm so cold colours...maybe even make it raining a paint wet fur.

Fennec is because I've never painted one, Abby is because cats sell and I like red animals..
Same for the red fox, I also picked up some amazing red acrylic last I was in Germany I have yet to use.

I love to hear your opinions on these, I want to have a decent amount of paintings for EF artshow... If I don't get space (still waiting on that info) I'll offer them here on Patreon if no interest then I'll sell to the public online.

I think I’m pretty drawn to the brown hyena- the idea you have for it is really neat too and I’m excited to see it come to life!
