Ginger's relationship with food was complicated. It was her refuge during times of sadness, anger, and unhappiness, and she often found herself succumbing to its allure when she glanced in the mirror. On this particular evening, as she prepared for bed, she cast a critical eye over her own body and felt the familiar stirrings of hunger. Without hesitation, she placed an order for a pizza, settling down to watch some videos on Instagram while she indulged once more.

As she scrolled through her Instagram feed, her attention was drawn to one of her classmates, Sabrina. Ginger's gaze lingered on Sabrina's photos, and she absentmindedly uttered, "I wish I could look like her – I wouldn’t be alone on a Friday night if I did…” Unbeknownst to Ginger, a shooting star streaked across the sky just outside her bedroom window at the very moment she made her wish. It was a celestial occurrence that held an unexpected power, and the room seemed to respond in kind. Suddenly, the world around her began to blur and spin.

Amid this disorienting whirlwind, a stretching sensation emanated from her forehead. It crept throughout her entire body seconds later. “What’s happening?” she wondered. Ginger felt as though her mind was detaching itself from her physical body. Her consciousness seemed to separate from the vessel that had carried her through life's trials and tribulations. It was a surreal sensation, like drifting away from herself.

In those fleeting moments, Ginger ceased to be Ginger. She was no longer the girl who struggled with her relationship with food and her body image. When Ginger's eyes fluttered open, she found herself in a room that was not her own. The colors, textures, and décor were entirely foreign to her. Panic surged within her as she tried to sit up, but her movements were strangely fluid and graceful, unlike her usual self. Her limbs felt lighter, more agile, as if they belonged to a different person.

Her gaze dropped down to her body, and she couldn't help but gasp. Every inch of her body was different, and the way she felt made her smile. She was in Sabrina’s gorgeous body, the classmate she had envied just moments ago. She reached up and ran her fingers along her narrow face before admiring her beautiful eyes. Just as she was about to look at the rest of her body, she noticed something flashing outside of her window.

“Is that a meteor shower?” she wondered quietly. Confusion and fear coursed through her when she thought about what she had wished for. She struggled to make sense of the inexplicable transformation that had taken place, yet she had a feeling that her wish had something to do with this. “Does this mean she’s in my body?” Fear made her heart begin to race. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was living in a dream. “What if she tells someone?”

Ginger had stepped into Sabrina's life, occupying her body and her space where she could do anything she wanted. The first thing she did was find the popular girl’s cell phone. She picked it up, took a deep breath, and immediately dialed her own phone. When she didn’t get an answer, she called her adoptive parents, and the cries she heard sent chills running down her spine. Her old body was unresponsive and being taken to the hospital, and the thought of being trapped in Sabrina’s body with no witnesses made a smile stretch over her lips.
