Sylvia couldn't believe how nobody could tell that she was being controlled by another soul. After opening a jewelry box that she and a group of friends stole from a store during a riot, she was shocked when she felt her body freezing up. She felt something from the box slipping through her lips, and before she knew it, she was moving on her own. Her body had stopped in front of a mirror, and the evil smile on her face made her try to call out for help.

Unfortunately, nobody could hear her. The spirit that now controlled her body couldn't hear her either as she giggled with glee. "I can't believe I'm actually alive again," her lips said with a thick British accent. "So ... I'm in the United States. It's amazing how far I've come. How on earth did my cremation ring get here?" The body thief picked up a golden ring with a grey stone at the center. Sylvia realized that they were ashes frozen in an adhesive material. "Such a shame. I hope my family's okay. Gosh ... what does this girl eat? Her breasts are so big. And these clothes ... are far too revealing. I like it.”

Sylvia did everything she could to regain control. Unfortunately, she was stuck as a passenger in her body, watching the body thief's every move while she watched them learn everything about her life. Everything was posted on social media, and the spirit even read her diary. Little by little, the body thief managed to adjust to her life. She began to adopt Sylvia's routine. She jogged in the mornings, read books on the bus to school, and sat in class to absorb as much information as possible.

Obviously, the body thief didn't understand most of the material. Sylvia was in a math program, and the spirit obviously wasn't a math person. But between classes, the body thief would look into a woman known as "Allison Gray." Sylvia would eventually learn that Allison was the spirit controlling her. Her obituary mentioned that she died thirty years ago, and the ring had reached the US because her husband had moved on to one of his mistresses.

The realization that her husband had moved on made Allison sad. Unfortunately for Sylvia, that only made it easier for the body thief to stick with her stolen life. There was no point in cutting her second life short - Allison was going to live life to the fullest. She learned everything about Sylvia through social media and the handful of friends who attended college with her.

And to Sylvia's horror, everybody actually liked Allison better. The body thief was friendlier and more giving. She loved making new friends. They actively held conversations with her, and with Allison's fake American accent, Sylvia wasn't pleased to learn that she was never going to get her body back.

Desperate to regain control, Sylvia pushed everything that Allison wanted out of her system. She screamed, shouted, and tried to break through her mind prison. To Allison's annoyance, it felt like she was becoming quieter and quieter in her own head. It wouldn't be long before she'd be lost in her mind forever, trapped and controlled by a ghost who was unhappy with her past life.
