Natalia, a studious and diligent freshman, found herself overburdened by the rigors of her college curriculum. Seeking a respite and a way to celebrate her upcoming birthday, she eagerly agreed when Sonya, her best friend, proposed a summer vacation to Malaysia. This offer, extended by Sonya's cousin William, included a stay at his summer mansion. Everything was being paid for, from their potential shopping trips to plane tickets. This was an honest way to experience a life devoid of academic stress – the perfect escape.

The initial week of their stay was a euphoric whirlwind. Natalia found herself blending with the locals, partaking in local drinks and lounging under the hot Malaysian sun alongside Sonya. This was a stark contrast to her usual life. She maintained contact with her observant boyfriend Steve, but she did not let him into the wild and impulsive side of her vacation. She didn’t tell him about all the cute guys hitting on her. Little did she know that this change was a harbinger of a disconcerting incident.

Their explorations led them to fascinating places. The iconic Petronas Twin Towers, standing tall and majestic against the city's skyline, had Natalia in awe. She was enthralled by the vibrant colors and the lively chatter of the bustling Central Market, where she savored Nasi Lemak, the national dish of Malaysia. The fragrant rice, spicy sambal, crunchy peanuts, and the hard-boiled egg combined in an explosion of flavors in her mouth.

Natalia's birthday was an eventful affair. They traveled to the quaint town of Melaka, renowned for its historical monuments and rich cultural heritage. They navigated the scenic Melaka River on a cruise and explored the impressive A'Famosa Fort, taking a plunge into the town's colonial past. In the evening, they feasted on a local delicacy, Chicken Rice Balls, a unique twist on the classic Hainanese chicken rice. The succulent chicken served with rice rolled into bite-sized balls was a culinary revelation for Natalia.

Sonya was more than just a travel companion for Natalia. She brought joy and excitement to the journey. Her spontaneity and sense of adventure drew Natalia out of her shell. One day, Sonya sneaked out for a solo trip to the mall, intending to surprise Natalia with a birthday present before catching her attempts to slip away from the mansion. “Wait, but you paid for this entire trip, Sonya. That’s more than enough.”

But Sonya insisted since it was actually William who paid for everything. So, Natalia had to watch helplessly as she darted away. Eventually, Natalia found herself in the company of William. He persuaded her to kick back and share a beer with him on the balcony. As they enjoyed their drinks, a sudden sharp pain coursed through Natalia's head. She realized she swallowed something black and gooey. Overwhelmed by the sudden throb, Natalia started slouching in her seat. William seemed overjoyed. Little did she realize then that this seemingly carefree summer vacation was about to take a startling turn, especially when her lips started moving on their own. “Such a wonderful dear,” her lips mouthed. “That was easier than my last body. I slipped right down her throat.”

“You’ll notice that she’s better than the pictures,” William said. “Go on – check yourself out, Bri.”

Natalia was trapped in her own body as it moved through the room. Her body stopped in front of the mirror. Looking at herself from the side, the possessor seemed to be admiring herself. “She’s absolutely perfect,” her lips purred. “This is such a great body. She’s even healthier than my last one.” It didn’t take long for Natalia to learn that Sonya’s cousin and his girlfriend were body hoppers. William was happy with his current body, but Bri wanted something a little skinnier. And when Sonya had accidently provided them with the perfect host, the body thief didn’t hesitate to take her new flesh by force.
