"I want my body back," a feeble voice hissed from down the hall. Amber had been sitting on the stairs taking selfies at her prestigious apartment lobby when a familiar face appeared. She couldn't help but smile at the weak lady pushing her walker. Her curly white hair was a dead giveaway - it was Amber's old body.

"Ah, you must be Tianna. Give your body back? You do realize that the Great Shift was a worldwide phenomenon, right? I don't know how to trigger it. I'm just living my best life." Amber crossed her legs and laughed when she saw the stupidly lost look on her old body's face. "Yeah, don't look at me like that. It's not like I actively triggered the event."

"Sorry, I blanked out there. I ... no. Yes, there are people downtown who know how to physically transfer us back. The Great Shift spiritually swapped us because we happened to be compatible. The same physical process will make things right. If you c-could just come with me I'll-"

"I don't think so," Amber snapped. "I prefer being the new Tianna. I hated feeling sore all over. I hated feeling slow." She let out an evil giggle. "I hated being so hideous. But now I have everything. A trust fund, a loving family, and a healthy figure that'll serve me well for the next seventy years. Maybe more!"

Tianna could only stare back at Amber with a dumbfounded look. The old woman knew consent was needed for a surgical swap, and there was no way she was going back into her old body. She loved her When the Great Shift transferred Amber's mind into the body of a younger woman, it couldn't have happened at a better time. She was at the end of her life at 93-years-old. She spent much of her life devoted to helping others and volunteering religiously, but she never had a family. She never had children. By the end of her life, she was living alone in a retirement home regretting her past decisions. But the moment she found herself in a younger body was the moment she realized that she had a second chance at life.

Amber's new body was that of a healthy 27-year-old woman. She had her whole life ahead of her. She could finally start a family of her own and experience all of the joys that come along with it. With a vast reserve of wealth from a trust fund, she was also given the opportunity to pursue her dreams and accomplish things that she never thought possible. The Great Shift gave her a second chance at life, and she was determined to make the most of it. And as Tianna began to sob, Amber was glad she wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
