I have often wondered about the artificial horizon methods and I have always found the horizon moving method more confusing - until that is I realised that if look outside the cockpit, this is exactly what I am seeing! Duh

When I saw the video where Petter explained the difference between the two, I thought the russian method seemed a lot harder to implement and to read. I don't know how well the cockpit is lit usually and how well the instruments are illuminated, but to me, recognizing the attitude of a small black line against a stationary background seems much harder than recognizing the orientation of a moving contransted background. And I also wonder ... how do the russian models show pitch? Do they move the horizon for that? And again... has someone ever disassembled one of the non-russian models and knows how they work inside? I always wondered how that works.
