As always I would love to get your feedback on the video, content, thumbnail, title etc. I will release the video tomorrow afternoon so you will have plenty of time to preview it with a bag of popcorn.

Have a wonderful weekend my friends, I will plan a zoom hangout for next week.

This Little Known Phenomena Almost STALLED this Airbus!

Go to https://nordvpn.com/pilot or use code pilot to get a 2-year plan plus a bonus gift with a huge discount! On the 20th of December 2019 an Airbus A318 from Air France, Flight 7512, suffered a very serious upset event during approach into Toulon in Southern France. The upset was caused by a little known feature of the ILS system known as a false glide-slope and in this video I will tell you all about what happened and what we can learn from it. One of my fav videos. I know little about planes and flying but I feel I can learn and understand clearly what you explain. You are a NATURAL at teaching. Keep them coming please!

Interesting -- It was around 40 or more years ago that I was working on flight sims in Heathrow, and the Sim Engineers did some crazy things when test flying them. I assume that the false nodes were not simulated in the sims (or maybe they were not even known about?) However, my Amateur Radio (license G3OCR) knowledge (mostly VHF and UHF) beam antennas meant that a beam yagi-design antenna has a number of lobes above and below the primary signal. If i would have thought about this related to the glide-slope on the sim it should have been obvious.
