Why did this CRASH become so DEADLY? TK981

On the 3rd of March 1974 Turkish Airlines flight 981 crashed into the Ermenonville forest outside 37km North East of Paris. This was the second DC10 crash within two years and became the deadliest aviation accident of its time. In this video we will look into the reason of this crash and what put it apart from American Airlines flight 96. Now! well presented. one thing that stood out was the ground service person working on international flights [english is mandated] not comprehending the warnings on the door he closed. to this day the "super" nationalistic attitude of [ sorry folks] the french citizens still causes "difficulties" in international operations. communication is imperative in such operations. how sad that so many people died because an apparently insufficiently trained ground handler allowed this fault to go uncorrected.

Great work! I didn't catch any errors myself.

I Thomas, as a french guy I'm not sure there's a "super" nationalistic problem in France. Sure french people are not good at foreign languages but it's more an educational system problem than an assumed attitude. I'm interested to know what is your personal experience on this subject regarding french people attitude. We've been hosting foreign students at home for several years now and indeed we heard some bad experience from them with waiters (or waitresses) or sales people in shop but it was more an individual attitude from lazy people who don't make any effort to try to support foreign persons in their attempts to speak french. For sure at least reading english should be mandatory to work in the aviation industry even in ground services. I don't know was is the current sitation now compared to the 80's. Aviation learns from its mistakes, it's how safety is always progressing. Have a nice day
