Hi my friends!

I hope you are all doing absolutely fantastic and that the Christmas stress haven't yet hit you.

Here comes your exclusive (preliminary) preview of tomorrows release on the channel. I am saying preliminary because I have spotted some inaccuracies in the Sponsor message that might force me to scrap the video. :(

As always I am relying on you to be my eyes and ears when it comes to the quality of the video. Do you like the message? Is the video understandable? Is there something that could improve or needs to be changed?

Let me know my friends and have a great weekend!

Can an Aircraft be hacked?!

Start protecting yourself on the web at https://nordvpn.org/pilot and use code: "pilot" to save 66%! Can an aircraft be hacked? If so, what aircraft systems and areas are most likely to be targeted and how will pilots and airlines respond to this cyber-Threat? In Todays episode I will be talking about this particular area to the best of my capability. Cyber security is not area that pilots normally concern themselves with but it is likely that it will become a bigger part of our "threat management" procedures as our Aircraft becomes more and more advanced and computer networks and technology are becoming part of everyday aircraft operation. A big thank you to our sponsor Nord VPN for making this video possible. (In case you don't read the YouTube comment) I have to make sure that what I write is already public knowledge. comp.risks is a pre-www Usenet newsgroup which is what people of common interest used to communicate ideas (largely) without pictures. The newsgroup survives and anybody who has more than a passing interest in risks around (ab)using computers should take a look. Articles relevant to avionics crop up on occasion, including in-depth treatises such as http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/Risks/24/03#subj3 Further reading: Homeland Security: https://www.csoonline.com/article/3236721/security/homeland-security-team-remotely-hacked-a-boeing-757.html Alleged passenger hack: https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/ct-flight-hacking-investigation-20150518-story.html Researchers: https://www.securityweek.com/panasonic-flight-entertainment-systems-can-be-hacked-researcher Notable: (download the full report) https://www.gao.gov/products/GAO-15-370 »For example, FAA issued Special Conditions to address the increased connectivity among aircraft cockpit and cabin systems for the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 to provide systems cybersecurity and computer network protection from unauthorized external and internal access. « Recent reports of in-flight hacking have been about e.g. passengers having their emails hacked … but that can happen on any untrusted network. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/2016/02/24/got-hacked-my-mac-while-writing-story/80844720/ It's far safer to leave your computing device in the (carry-on) bag and simply enjoy the flight; maintaining situational awareness. Note that discussing the hacking of avionics systems has resulted in some (security experts) being detained at airports before being allowed to board their flights. Now let's hope that this comment won't be filtered out as spam, due to the number of links.

I like this one alot. The video flows very well and the information you give is clear and entertaining, as always!. If there are any inaccuracies I certainly didn't pick up any and I don't think that many viewers will pick up on them either. Top job Mentour!
