I got a copywright strike on the first variant of this video since I showed a video-clip of an Airbus evacuation in it so I had to re-do it.

Why are the cabin lights dimmed for takeoff and landing during the hours of darkness, and why do we have to stow our tray-tables, open the window-shades and put our seats upright before landing?
