Enjoy 10% OFF on all Hoverpens and free shipping to most countries with code MENTOUR: North America & other countries: https://bit.ly/novium_mentour UK & Europe: https://bit.ly/noviumeu_mentour ----------------------------------------------------- When it entered service, the A380 earned the title of the world’s largest airliner – and from the start, passengers LOVED it. But, Airbus lost money with every one of the 251 A380s they sold… and they stopped making them BEFORE Boeing stopped making the 747, the type that the A380 should have replaced. HOW did Airbus get so wrong-footed with the A380, and… did Boeing somehow… “trick” them, or push them to make a really expensive mistake? Stay tuned. ----------------------------------------------------- If you want to support the work I do on the channel, join my Patreon crew and get awesome perks and help me move the channel forward! 👉🏻 https://www.patreon.com/mentourpilot Our Connections: 👉🏻 Exclusive Mentour Merch: https://mentour-crew.creator-spring.com/? 👉🏻 Our other channel: youtube.com/mentournow 👉🏻 Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/shop/mentourpilot 👉🏻 BOSE Aviation: https://boseaviation-emea.aero/headsets Social: 👉🏻 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MentourPilot 👉🏻 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mentour_pilot 👉🏻 Twitter: https://twitter.com/MenTourPilot 👉🏻 Discord server: https://discord.gg/JntGWdn Download the FREE Mentour Aviation app for all the lastest aviation content 👉🏻 https://www.mentourpilot.com/apps/ Below you will find the links to videos and sources used in this episode. Jesper Mogensen

Hi Petter, Thanks a lot for your fascinating walk-through of the history of both the B747 and the A380! I have flown on both types (as a passenger) several times and like them both very much (as the flight freak I am…). Of course I understand why airlines purchasing and operating such huge aircraft generally tend to squeeze as many Economy Class passengers as possible together within a very tiny space. Probably just to cover some of the acquisition costs of the plane, while at the same time not even considering offering these passengers at least the same legroom as they usually do their Priority Passengers (although at a quite hefty price, admittedly!) My question here is basically whether such trends on the whole could be prevented… If development of much bigger aircraft would also automatically result in better legroom and comfort for all passengers, this would be very nice and quite healthier for everyone…! I doubt this very much, alas… ;-) Best regards Jesper

I see ANA livery in the video. Is that because Japan orders these extra large jets? I heard they have a unique market for larger jets and I would like to hear how that works.
