TWB, as of last week, is now officially old enough to drink! :)

The first posted comic says June 18th of '02, but as I recall, the first comic was posted to the Guild on the 21st.  After a day or two, I registered the domain name, but since I had multiple comics, I had to predate the first couple to bring it up to the then-current date. (Note the drawn-in dates on the latter actual-whiteboard comics, of the 22nd. I posted the first one on the 21st, drew the others [at least some of them] on the 22nd, and posted the first ones [manually, no scheduler] on probably the 23rd or 24th.)

Curt, one of our Guild regulars, wrote me a quick-and-dirty scheduler probably within that first or second week, and with only two minor updates, that's been running ever since.

And, I'll readily admit that, without that, I probably would have given up on it early on. :)

I had then, as now, no idea where the comic would go, but it's been a blast along the way.

Now that we can drink, here's to another 21 years! :)

Doc.

Cheers! I'll down one for my favorite lighthearted webcomic at my next reasonable opportunity.

I started reading TWB a little before your 10th anniversary. Time sure flies!

In Australia, the comic reached its Age Of Majority in 2020. In Australia it's 18 years old, unlike the USA where it's 21.

My thoughts as well. If you were in Australia, you could have bought a drink two years ago. Of course, you would have had to give up your guns.

What a coinkidink, 21 years ago last August I was killed by a drunk driver in a pickup truck who took violent objection to my riding a bicycle about 0120 on the same road he was driving on the opposite side of the median. I mean they checked for a pulse and didn't find one but as they found me about 100 feet from where they could see the blood spatter where I got hit they may not have checked real well, and they were already getting the body bag out to haul me away in when I complained about the rough treatment I was getting and how it was making my broken hip hurt. My leg was hanging on by a thread but the broken hip was the only thing I could feel. The part of my leg below the knee was basically blown apart in the initial impact, but I didn't feel that until after they transferred me out of the ICU.

Congrats on the 20 years! Don't drink and drive!

Age of Majority is still 18 in the United States. It's just the Age of Vice that is higher.

Congrats on making it this far, and thank you for sharing it with us!

You have just gotten better with age.

I started reading in college and I have been looking forward to your new comics ever since. I feel old, I started reading with the first Halloween party comic.
