Sherlock Holmes Behind the Scenes, pt 18 (Patreon)
Content
And that's a wrap, folks! Hope you enjoyed it- both versions, really.
I'd like to thank Kathy Garrison-Kellogg of the hyena-centric webcomic Carry On for writing this for us. I went off the rails a bit with my version, but I think it came out well.
Let us know what you think! We'd both like to try this again sometime- maybe next time we can make it Roger's dream. :)
Thanks for reading!
Doc.
Dialogue:
(Watson returns dressed in his regular outfit. Holmes is relaxing in the wicker chair, smoking his pipe, his eyes closed.)
Watson: Congratulations, Holmes, on finally capturing Professor Moriarty...and dong it with one paw tied behind your back, as it were!
Watson: It was an amazing bit of complex subterfuge on your part--a real tour-de-force. You overlooked nothing--(pause)--but what about poor Professor Partington?
(Holmes doesn't answer. The smoke from his pipe turns into an intermittent trickle.)
Watson: (cocking his head) Holmes?
(Holmes snores softly. Watson smiles. Then he puts Holmes' pipe aside and drapes a blanket over his sleeping friend.)
Scene change:
(Doc has dozed off over his novel. Cara comes in and gently shakes his arm)
Cara: Come to bed, Dear. The power's still out.
(She carries the kerosene lamp in one had and guides a sleepy Doc up the stairs with the other.)
Cara: Why you read those silly stories is a mystery to me...
