Dialogue"
(A small paw is surreptitiously reaching for one of the neglected pints on the table)
Watson: Maybe he's waiting for the furore to die down?
Holmes: (scowling in thought) Perhaps, or to get a better price...
(They depart the pub)
Holmes: In any event, we must repair to London posthaste! (pause) Come, Watson!
Irene Adler, shouting angrily after them: Hey--! You forgot to pay your bill!
Narration: Back in Baker Street--
Watson: Holmes, you have been wearing yourself thin. Why don't you have a bit of a lie-down?
Holmes: (in the wicker chair by the fireplace) You know I cannot sleep when I am on a case, Watson!
Watson: (heading for the door) I think I have some sleeping tablets in my bag--I'll just nip upstairs to my room and get them. (pause) You must rest!
(Watson stops short by the arrival of Mrs. Hudson (Sandy))
Watson: Oh! Mrs. Hudson!
Mrs. Hudson: Doctor Watson--Mister Holmes! I'm glad you're back!
(Mrs. Hudson goes over to show Holmes a packet of papers tied up with a ribbon. Holmes sits up in the chair, looking surprised)
Mrs. Hudson: I was tidying up while you were out, and I found these papers--in Doctor Watson's room!
