I was digging through some old files looking for a particular bit of artwork for another project, and came across this original drawing of Radar.

It's basically a finished version of the very first sketch I made of the character. She got a little simplified for her first appearance, and unfortunately, when I'm not paying attention, I tend to draw her just as a more svelte Jinx. :)

This is more how I intended her from the beginning- taller than Jinx, thinner, maybe not the comically-large ears she's had lately, etc.

Hopefully the next time we see her, she'll be a little closer to the original model. :)

She's adorable. And a good Paintball player.

I think it's fun seeing early-draft looks of characters! For the what could have been factor or just seeing the stages of development prior to the final version is neat.

EXTREMELY CUTE Well as a fennec she's the smallest of the fox species. The large ears not only help her hear the softest noises they help her stay cool. Fennecs don't sweat they radiate excess heat from thier ears

The eyes!

Nice picture. Fennecs do have rather large ears, so the more recent depictions don't look bad

Darn it Doc!!! She's so darned cute I wanna snuggle her and give her ear skritchies!

I do like the large ears. They look cute, and does make her distinctive from other fox characters.

"Choppers coming." "I don't hear anything..." (WHUP WHUP WHUP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gO7uemm6Yo Sorry, wrong Radar.

I could so easily see a fennec fox cast as Walter 'Radar' O'Reilly in the Doc's universe version of M*A*S*H.

Somewhere on the internet is a MASH furry cast pic. I have seen it. I just don't remember where.

I do love the comically large ears she has, though.

Don't know about anyone else, but the 'first appearance' link sends me to the 10/03/2014 strip, which certainly doesn't show Radar - unless that's her hiding in the bushes.

Ah, the mysterious sixth panel. We meet at last. (Thanks, Begaminoid. She WAS hiding in the bushes - in the 6th panel.)

Nothin' wrong with big ears on a big-ears fox :D

I don't know. I like this but I thought the finished design was better.
