Thank you all for your surprising and rapid response to the new book launch! Monday's gonna be a busy one. :)

But, while I have your attention, I have a question: The next storyline following the contents of Book 12, is the famous "Longest Day" tale, with everyone at the paintball field and Doc goes nuts with the Gatling gun. That's all one long storyline, and stretches out to about 400 strips.

A typical TWB book is between 100 and 120 strips. The biggest one, Book 4- also a single consistent storyline- is 160 strips.

So the question is, do I offer that as one big book, or as a set of three normal sized books.

One Big Book would be a full-size issue, not the half-page sized books we're used to, with four strips per page rather than just two. It'd be slightly thicker than a regular book, but it'd keep the storyline all together in a single 'graphic novel'. The only real drawback being that, for those of you collecting books, it'll be the 'odd man out', a different size and shape than all the others.

The Set Of Three would be just like the current books, just slightly thicker than usual. The only drawback there being due to space issues, I may have to break the storyline at odd places to separate the books. But, they'll match everything else in your collection- if that's important to you. :)

The third option is that I could potentially do both. The problem there is that it's twice as much work- and it was already going to be a fair-sized project doing three more books at once.

So let me know what'cha think!

Doc.

Do one big book. And have the spine such that the added area above the height of a normal book be in black and yellow warning stripes with a suitable warning message about additional clearance ^.^

Pete

Not the most important thing in the universe, I realise, but for what it's worth The Big One won't fit on my TWB shelf.

It's your story, your characters, your time investments. I'd say most of us have an appreciation for the time and expense you already expend on our behalf. Do what is most time- and cost-efficient for you!

Presuming that the 3 book set would all come out together, that would be my preference. I like to keep all my comic collections together, so a Big Book would have to go somewhere else. That said, go with what is easiest time & cost-wise for you. I'll buy it anyway it comes.

Sebastian

An odd book for an odd story.

I get the feeling that the tourney arc might end up even longer, when you start it. But we can hope that The Longest Day retains it title...

Inglorious Bastard

I say do one big book first then the tree smaller ones if and when the demand arises.

Kaz Redclaw

One book that's the same size as the rest, but SUPER thick. :) Thick enough to bludgeon someone with. Almost cube-like.

Joanna

I voted for a set of three, but honestly, Kaz's suggestion of one very thick book makes more sense to me than a double height one, assuming your binding methods could hold up to it.

As a collector of different things, i value consistency. I would prefer 3 books, but a more practical sollution would probably be to do them both. I realise, that that may not be economably viable to you though?

J. Cook

Both if practical (I can understand if it's not), but plus one to Kaz's comment about a 'brick' book. :)

Red Fox Homesteader

Three books. It keeps things consistent, for one. But most importantly, it allows for the collection of three fanboy sketches, instead of one. Those sketches are pretty much the only opportunity that most of us have to get original artwork. I would rather have that opportunity. Plus, it's an extra thirty bucks going to Doc on each order for those sketches. Win win.
