A recent set of book purchases came with a "Fanboy" sketch request that kind of "gamed the system" a bit. :) Usually you can only pick one character, and I try to discourage too much description of what's supposed to happen in the sketch, since in days gone by, I've gotten literal four-paragraph descriptions of what the reader wanted to see eight characters all doing, and all of a sudden, I'm spending three hours on a single book sketch. :)

In this case, the reader wanted several of the TWB guys to be giving their girls a flower- simple enough action, but of course that meant he got two sketches per book.

I let it slide this time, but let's try not to abuse the privilege, eh? :)

Anyway, the first such sketch is Jinx giving Kasi some sort of... mutant rose, maybe. I don't usually draw flowers. :)

We can assume that, as they're both kind of still in the "eew, cooties!" stage, that what happened here is that there's some kind of insect on the flower, and Jinx is actually saying "Hey, check out this weird bug I found!" :)

(And as usual, continued apologies for the minimal posting rate here- this summer has been incredibly busy, and as such, also quite productive. I've been able to catch up on several major shop-improvement projects these past few months, with more on track very shortly. Our summers are very short up here, and we have to make the most of them.

Thanks for your understanding. :)

Jinx didn't seem to be in the 'cooties' stage when Robin was smooching him like he had honey on his cheek... Makes me jealous of whoever she marries when she grows up.

I would say "about damned time", but I forgot to take their ages into account. Maybe in a few more years.

Just awesome. A step forward, but I'm glad you are keeping the kids kids (too many comics/animations these days assign heavy romantic/sexual themes to 11-13 year old characters and it creeps the hell outta me). Jinx' tentative pose and Kasi's "what the what" face are priceless. Gonna have to get me some books.

You could always have had them handing the flower out of the picture, straight at the viewer, avoiding drawing the girls at all.

Jinx and Kasi, sittin' in a tree . . . That is so cute!
