Another demo :)

This one is interesting on the composing I think ^^

I made different groups of layers for the background with Becky'sface, the foreground with the ship and then the pirates. Some artist would go for a single line layer here but personally I really prefer to divide the composing into several of them so it's very easy to tweak with them afterward.  For example if I want to make the pirate at the top foreground to be bigger ( closer to us ), I just have a click to do to accomplish that ^^

Notice also the hue / saturation layer at the very top.  I brought this up before but I'll say it again because it's a vey neat and useful trick ^^  make the layer visible.  You now see the picture in grayscale.  The idea here is to discard color as a parameter and see if the picture works well without it, to see if every parts of the scene read easily and if the lighting produce a good sense of volume.  If it does, then your picture is mostly good ^^  and if you disable the layer and think your picture looks a bit off compared to when it was in grayscale, then you know for a fact it's not because of lighting or shading but because of your color palette which is actually not a big deal to change comparatively. And especially if you use layers for each elements :3
