For this one I made a special effort to keep every layers and to not flatten anything so you can see the whole thing ( I just had to reduce the picture quite a bit in size to not end up with an enormous PSD file ^^; )
Also this one is interesting because I used a method of shading different from the three previous ones. That's what I call the purple layer method ( even though the layer don't necessary have to be purple XD ) Basically the idea is to have elements in flat coloring and to make all the shading from a single layer in multiply mode ( I named it "main SHADE"on the PSD ). I usually use either a purple or blue-ish color for it as shadows are in cold colors most of the time.
Advantage of that method : it makes the shading of the whole picture very homogeneous in term of value, giving it a unified feel. It's also pretty fast and allow very easily to change a particular element : you just have to tweak the flat coloring itself and the shade layer will still apply to it anyway ^^ That means a ton of flexibility in the picture. If, on top of that, you use a lot of layers to separate each elements like I did here, it means you can make pretty drastic changes to a picture, without having to redraw on it at all.
Con: it makes all shadows very unified which means it can also lacks subtlety sometimes.. Somehow I feel it works best with scenes seen in an interior. ( Note that using that method of shading don't mean I won't be using slight shadow layers linked to the flat colors elements as well. They always add a little something I feel )
Try that method, it's a very user friendly one that can allow you to have a great looking shading really easily :) and don't hesitate if you have any questions ! :3
