Hi there!

The RPG Maker engine allows you to deploy your project so it can be played in a web browser. This seemed like a good idea, because this might make the game playable for people using Linux or OSX as well. Not that I'm considering ditching a dedicated Windows version, but for the other OS' this might be a viable solution.

The problem is that I've run into some issues. Nor do I have the means to test it on all OS' or browsers, so I was hoping some of you might want to lend a hand?

These are the results of my testing so far:

IE 11: Can't load the game (just shows a black screen)

Edge: No problems loading or playing the game, but doesn't allow you to save:-/.

Chrome: Can't load game (error loading file)

Firefox: Loads and saves games without issues

Other browsers not tested.

So thus far only Firefox seems to be a viable option. I assume Edge and Chrome's issues may be related to some security settings in the browser. Perhaps some of you have some experience with this?

I'd especially like to hear if anyone on Linux or OSX manages to get this to work.

How to play:

Just download and extract the .zip file. Start the game with the index.html file.

Oh, forgot to mention: This is version 1.21, so no new features or anything else.

Hi Tinkerer! MacOS El Capitan - Safari 11.1.2 "Failed to load data/Actors.json". With Firefox 57 it seems OK.

Is there any way to send you a private message? The "problem" in Chrome is that the ressources are blocked for security reasons: "Cross origin requests are only supported for protocol schemes: http, data, chrome, chrome-extension, https." I would assume that Firefox will block these kind of requests in future versions also. This can only be avoided when you host the game on a properly configured webserver. (With i could help you with)

It seems in Edge it's a security problem too. The function for saving information in the local session-storage (of the browser) could'nt be loaded.

Thanks I had a little help with letters and background though:-). My photoshop/Gimp skills aren't the greatest.
