The Giantess Update Released! (Patreon)
Content
Here are some of the changes made since v 0.22:
First the additions:
- 2 new ladies to befriend/piss off.
- New locations: The stables, Fridaheim, the mountain pass and mines.
- New enemies/monsters to fight.
- More items and ingredients, including a very special potion
- New quests
- The beginnings of a HUD/Status bar. It's very basic at the moment, just a semi transparent bar at the top of the screen displaying the remaining daylight hours. I'm going to change the text to icons in later updates and add other info as well, but it's a start!
- Oh yes, almost forgot. You get to meet a very lucky horse too!
Changes/bugfixes:
- Changed the way time passes. Before each map cost a certain amount of time to enter and leave, depending on how much there was to do. (e.g. the goblin forest cost 3 hours to enter and 3 hours to leave, simulating the time spent hunting). This approach no longer works as more maps are added, because one might just want to travel quickly through a map to get somewhere else, without doing anything.
Therefore from now on leaving a map just costs 1 hour, in addition most most actions cost 1 hour (shopping, sex, fighting, etc.). If you escape before the first round of a fight, no time passes.
- Now you can still enter other map sections even though you've spent all daylight hours. However, once the amount of hours left reaches 0, you become Tired (all stats except HP&MP are at 80%). Reach -3 hours and you become Exhausted (all stats except HP&MP are at 50%). At which point most encounters become very deadly. Also keep in mind most people lock their doors at night.
- Changed the way Shakala events are handled, again..... Now they appear on the map, but it's hopefully not completely obvious, at first, that she's behind them. No, there ar no new renders of her. That's for a later update.
What else?
I fixed a shitload of small bugs, spelling errors and added some general polish in certain areas.
Previous savegames & New saves:
I upgraded my project to version 1.4.1 of rpg maker to enable the HUD feature. This has changed the folder structure for the savegames and isn't compatible with the .exe packer. Luckily there is a fairly simple solution:
Create a folder called www in the same folder containing the new .exe file. The game should now allow you to save your progress.
To use savegames from a previous version; copy your save folder into the www folder. Now your old savegames should be loadable.
Load your savegame and head over to the big tree in the centre of Weirdwood and press the blinking sprite.
Now have fun and play!
And do report any bugs you find.
