Our Magic Item Cards are objects in our world, usually accompanying the series we tackle that month. The item might help you visualize the world and its creations better: add items for effects on your players, add them to your treasure box for flavor, or use them as a quest item.

Without further ado, this month's exclusive Item Cards for all "The First Scouts," "First Class Ranger," "Undaunted Pioneer," “Grand Archivist,” and “Master Chronicler” supporters are here to accompany you and your companions’ epic tales:

  • Gingerbread Shield
Armor (Shield) | Uncommon | Requires Attunement by a Sweet Tooth
This charming shield, adorned with snow-white icing and candy buttons, is more than a festive decoration. Crafted by a whimsical enchanter, it possesses a delightful magical ability.
Requires Attunement by a Sweet Tooth. Only those who truly appreciate the joys of confectionery delights can unlock the full potential of this whimsical shield.#

Charge. This magical shield has 3 charges and regains all expended charges by feeding it sweets during a Short Rest.

Sweet Defense. As a Reaction, you can expend a charge to conjure a barrier of magical gingerbread, granting you a +2 bonus to AC until the start of your next turn. The barrier crumbles away after protecting you.

  • Mistletoe Bellstaff
Weapon (Staff) | Rare | Requires Attunement
This beautifully crafted staff, adorned with evergreen mistletoe and a collection of magical jingle bells, resonates with the spirit of the winter holidays. The staff's wood is etched with intricate candy cane swirls, shimmering faintly in the light.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Jingle Bells. As an Action, you can shake the staff, causing the bells to emit a soft, enchanting melody. This melody reveals the presence of hidden or invisible creatures within a 30-foot radius. It provides a sense of their direction but not their exact location.

Mistletoe Charm. Once per day, as an Action, you can activate the staff to release a wave of enchanting magic. All creatures (of your choice) that you can see within a 30-foot radius must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed by you for 2 turns. Charmed creatures view you as a friendly acquaintance and will not attack you unless provoked.

  • Snow Globe Ring
Wondrous Item | Rare | Requires No Attunement
This exquisitely crafted ring is designed to resemble a small, enchanted snow globe. Within its glass, a perpetual, delicate snowstorm dances, capturing the serene beauty of winter. Shake the ring wildly for its effects.

Blizzard’s Heart. Once per day, as an Action, you can activate the ring to release a magical, swirling snowstorm in a 30-foot radius around you. For 1 minute, the area is heavily obscured by thick snow and biting winds to anyone but you. Additionally, if an enemy creature is within the snowstorm’s radius at the start of its turn, it takes 1d6 cold damage.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Sugar Rush. On a critical hit with the Candy Cane Sword, you experience a surge of energy akin to a sugar rush. This surge immediately grants you an additional attack against any target within your reach. This additional attack deals an extra 2d8 slashing damage. This additional attack does not grant you yet another Sugar Rush effect if it results in a critical hit.
