Our Item Cards are objects you can find in our world, usually accompanying the series we tackle that month. This might help you visualize the world and its creations better: add items for effects on your players, simply add them to your treasure box for flavor or use them as a quest item.

We held a poll earlier this month in which we asked all of you guys to tell us what sort of items you would like to see for The Gambler’s Ship. We really liked the ideas that were there and decided to go with John Doe’s ‘Coin of Luck.’

Figure out if there’s any foul play with the ring’s turning compass. If the arrow rotates counterclockwise, there’s magic at play! If the arrow holds still, there’s nothing to worry about. Well, that is, unless the magic used is too deceptive for the ring to pick up on.

• Bewitching Cigar

Known as a “feel-good” product, these cherrywood-cased cigars are spread throughout the Gambler’s Ship’s casino by the many attractive attendants. The Bewitching Cigar grabs a hold of people’s desires, pushing those charmed by it to give in to desire and impulsively spend more than they could, often driving them into poverty.

Hit or miss… with the all-in, not-so-risk-free, all-or-nothing Lucky Coin! It once belonged to the Luckiest Man Alive, who had the gift of ‘Natural 20’ in many successions through the Lucky Coin’s effects. It was all fun and games until he gambled more than he should have, when the Lucky Coin, literally, decided to turn on him. He is now known as the Unluckiest Man Not-So-Alive.
