Hi, guys!  Sorry I'm so slow on updates, my schedule has been a little crazy lately.  I do have a new Millie piece and a Mona exclusive almost ready to go, but they won't be done until tomorrow.  Thanks for your patience!

Meanwhile, we haven't done this poll in a long time, so let's take an updated one.  Who is your favorite of our regular characters?  I'll get it started off with my own vote for Maisey, of course.

Just out of curiosity, which Dame came out on top last time?

andysdames

Thanks for letting me know! I'm sure we'll be seeing those two again quite soon.

This is a tough one and to some extent it varies over time. I've always like Kelsie, but in the past couple of years, Millie has really been the standout for me amongst the Dames, getting lots of hot situations related to both being a librarian and to her love of Renfaires, not to mention her turns as school disciplinarian, so I had to give her the nod this vote. (Kudos to your librarian consultant 😏). Kelsie, on the other hand, has kind of struggled to really express her personality in a unique way. She never really does any of the things that are ascribed to her on your Blogspot page, partly because going to comic-cons and playing D&D overlaps quite heavily with Millie's Renfaire activities, and there are really more situations that make sense for a Renfaire (Although I would dearly love to see Kelsey's Captive Space Princess costume just once... 😉) so as things have naturally developed, she just hasn't had as strongly drawn a personality as Millie, although I can see you've been experimenting with finding out what she's about, now. Of course, Kelli turns my head every time she puts on that Chinese minidress of hers, plus being a "bad girl" gets her into all kinds of fun, more extreme situations. I feel bad that Tina is doing so poorly in the vote and it's kind of ironic, since she is technically the lynchpin that connects all the other Dames together, but Kelli has really filled that role in that she probably has the most appearances with the greatest variety of other Dames (no, I don't have exact statistics 😏). Again, I see you experimenting with bringing some of the more isolated groups together, such as Millie disciplining the cheerleading squad and Dee getting them tied into the local pony girl scene, both of which have been quite successful. Anyway, I guess this is just a longwinded way of saying that I can't decide. But I find it interesting that a Dame's popularity seems to largely correlate with how well-defined her personality is, as expressed by the situations she's shown in being directly related to her character traits or interests.

Thanks for taking the time to share your insights, I really appreciate it! Some great feedback, here. It's true that some of the girls have gone astray from the descriptions they were given years ago. I'm actually not sure some of the original ideas, such as Tina's automotive shop and Millie's rock band, are really that relevant these days to the audience. They were originally intended to set things up for a comic, which I've tried to launch many times over the years, but it never seems to work out economically. So I often wonder if it's past time for some kind of "re-boot" with new settings and some updating of the characters, but I honestly have no idea right now about what it should look like.

I don't know that it's really necessary for all of them to have an explicit reboot or even super-detailed backstories, except insofar as it's helpful to you, personally. I think it's best just to let things develop as they have, e.g. with Millie's changing interests just coming out of the pieces she's in, Tammy and Abby being added and naturally evolving into the cheerleading squad, leading to them also being in College and then Millie's involvement with them evolving out of that is another example of the backstory just gradually being introduced. I don't know to what extent you had that planned out beforehand, but it worked very naturally and organically. If you have an idea that seems to be a good entry point for interesting pieces, like the Renfaire, that's a perfect opportunity to develop a new side to someone's personality, if you're worried about some Dames having a more underdeveloped character. Of course, sometimes those ideas are going to land and sometimes they won't, so if you aren't tied to a particular plan or backstory, you're much more free to make major modifications to an idea or just let it go completely, depending on whether it seems worth trying to salvage. There's always going to be some ebb and flow to who or what is inspiring you at any given time, so don't force it, the best developments seem to have grown organically. Maybe instead of rebooting everything, take stock of what is working right now and see where you could push it forward into new ideas and situations. Would it make sense for Mona to show up and a party where Sophie is serving? (Take that in whatever sense of the word you want 😏). We've seen Kelsie at school with Tammy and Abby. Might they develop some kind of rivalry? You've made a few cool pieces with the heavy steel restraints, now. are there one or two Dames who particularly get into that, or is that something they all try now and then, like the ponygirl gear? As a couple, now, are there any things Tina and Anya are specifically into, or do they just do a little of everything? The trophy wife thing seemed fun. Does Tina regularly display Anya in the case in different poses, maybe leaving her there for a few hours with a vibrating friend? Maybe other kinds of forniphilia, too? Could Mona's job take her to Japan, the home of Shibari, on occasion? I think those kinds of small steps are going to continue to be the best way forward.

More great thoughts here, thank you! Funny you mention the idea of Mona appearing at one of the parties Sophie serves, as I was actually going to make a platonic connection between them in the comic which has so far never surfaced. And speaking of Mona, it's been almost a year since she make her last business trip to Japan, so perhaps you're right, maybe she should make more regular visits there.

My actual answer is probably "the ponyboy(s)" but I voted for Dee because it seems like she's the one playing with the subby guys most 😅

TJ

Thank *you* for including cute guys for the dames to be mean to! Your art makes my bi little heart happy

I'd vote for Stephie as my favorite if she was up there lol! I'll go with Abby since I love her as well.

Captain Maim

I love them all, and I love how they all have distinct personalities that come out in your art.

Transporter

I think Anya and Tammy are right up there!

Love Sasha, but I'd also like to see more Stephie and Toni! Every post is good though.
