Excellent use of lighting here again to support the theme of the piece. Tammy is not only cutting off Abby's air, but she's also cutting off Abby's light. As Abby slumps more in the chair from Tammy's smothering, she also sinks further into the shadows as a metaphor for the result of not being allowed to breathe. Fortunately, it doesn't get TOO dark for the distance she can slump. After all, it's all in good fun!
