Hi guys, with everything going on right now I've decided to leave the password to behindandysdames.com unchanged for November, so it's still 343SST

UPDATED: I think our friend MH has found our problem, as he describes below in the comments.  I'm pretty sure the service provider moved the site to a different server, so it would make sense that all of my old links are dead (though I've updated a few recent ones now).  Clicking on a new link, like the one above, should hopefully work fine.  If it doesn't, please let me know, and thanks again for your patience.

I’ve checked your link from the previous post (www.behindandysdames.com), and it sent me to a 404, but if I use my own bookmarked link (behindandysdames.com) [note the no www. in front] it works as advertised. I don’t know why the www. link is failing, but that is the indicated failure (at least for me). I thought I’d let you (and everyone) know.

Oh hey, this could be a big help in figuring this out, thanks! I believe the service provider had to change the DNS information for the site to fix whatever they broke, so it would make sense that old links don't work but it can be reached by just typing in behindandysdames.com. I realize that's a nuisance for people on phones, but maybe new links will solve the problem.

The new links work great on my phone! Love your work as usual. Would love to see more Stephanie and Ms. Rockwell!

Glad to hear it, and thanks for letting me know! Meanwhile, although I don't have a new Stephie piece on deck at the moment, I am working on something similar that should be posted soon. Stay tuned!

Awesome!

Is stuff on there censored now?

Not as far as I know. If you're referring to that first Millie piece for November, I just felt like drawing it that way.

Being still close to Halloween, I took it as Millie being molested by ghosts. I guess one of the cool things about art is different people can interpret it in different ways.

If they moved the site to a different IP address, then the DNS lookup for all the behindandysdames.com domain names will have changed. DNS (Domain Name System) is kind of the internet "telephone book" that tells you what IP address to connect to when you type in a "somethingsomething.com"-type name (called a domain name) in your browser. Different internet services use different DNS servers, so when a domain name changes its IP address, the DNS server that gets the original change fed into it has to notify other DNS servers that it knows about, and they have to notify other DNS servers and it eventually works its way through the system until all the DNS servers have the changed domain name lookup, which can sometimes take a few days or even more for out-of-the-way DNS servers. That would explain why some people were able to connect and some weren't because their internet provider's DNS hadn't gotten the updated entry, yet. There's no need to update any links. When your DNS server get the update, then the domain name will work again as it should. The reason MH could connect on "behindandysdames.com" but not on "www.behindandysdames.com" is because those are two separate entries in the DNS. If "www.behindandysdames.com" used to work and you want it to work again, you'll probably have to call your hosting service and get them to update the "www.behindandysdames.com" entry because apparently they forgot it. If they update it, then any links to "www.behindandysdames.com" should work again in a few days at most, depending on the DNS propagation. Whew. okay, end of the pedantic internet lesson for today...

That's great, thanks for taking the time to clarify! I'm a car-guy-turned-art-guy, and not much of a computer guy, so I appreciate a little insight into these things. There was a time when I thought I was going to be a C programmer, but it's startling to think that was thirty years ago. Things have changed a bit since then, eh?
