I like what you have been doing here with the sequential pieces featuring the last few Dames, they really do read like panels in a comic strip (pun intended in Kelli's case, I guess). You seem to have found a way to create a "bridge" between the stand alone Dames pieces and a more full blown/formal Dames comic. This intermediate narrative storytelling approach works well, I think, with the three or four piece sets (at this point, at least) creating some pretty effective vignettes. It also allows you to really hone your skills with these gray pieces, as you mentioned previously. This latest Kelli set is quite strong visually/technique-wise, so that is definitely paying off (her cooler hair is particularly successful in contrast to the warmer tones everywhere else). I think too that working this way lets you more fully explore your ideas over several pieces, as opposed to trying to nail it all in one piece. From the first piece, where she is "introduced", through this latest piece, the set moves along with actually quite a bit of nice kinetic energy, as a good comic sequence should. It's like the best of both worlds...fully realized pieces that also hang together as a coherent sequence. Oh, and as for the use of the chair...bravo!

See? That chair's just been biding it's time, waiting to get in on the action. Thanks for the feedback! I think I'm going to do a lot of pieces in simple sequences like this, at least for a while. Not everything, of course. I'm thinking I'll try to rotate a variety of single stand-alone pieces with sequences ranging from three to five pieces in length. Of course, all images in the sequences should, presumably, stand on their own as well.

Indeed, and each of your sequence pieces do stand alone well on their own. In theory, all comic panels should be able to do that, however... And the chair...aw nuts, will I never learn...
