Here's a new painting that I just finished for another Kindle novel cover.  The original is on Ebay, item # 282803815506.  This one is a big step in a new direction (though I wish the scan was better).  I recently invested in a set of Golden "Open" acrylic paints, and after trying them with this piece, I'm convinced that they're the missing puzzle piece I've been searching for.  I've wanted to be able to paint opaquely to create more solid forms and vibrant colors, but also use transparent glazes to adjust colors and lighting, while allowing the white of the board to give the work a nice luminosity.  Now I can have both in the same piece, while painting in a process similar to painting in oil, but without the long drying times oil requires.  At last!  I was so excited about how well these work that I ordered another hundred dollars' worth of paint today to expand my pallet.  Is it here yet?  Is it here yet?  Is it here yet?
