What Is It?

"Camouflaging" in the Body Painting industry means blending people into the background using art. It's wildly popular, but I do not enjoy the experience as much. Why? Because the model disappears, and they become a prop can only be viewed from one specific angle, that has been lit as flat as possible.

It's less about them, and more about the "Ah Ha" moment.

Yet the success of the format cannot be denied, and years ago when I was asked to try out for a Reality Competition show, guess what they wanted me to do?

Not only that, they wanted me to demonstrate that I could master camouflage BEFORE I went on. I scrambled, and asked four people to jump in. Tyler Monzingo, Devon Battilega, Christine Wawira, and Wade Zolko all came to my aid....and well... You can check out the results for yourself! Here is a sampling of some of the projects.

My first examples utilized my artwork or scarves. Because why not?

It's hard to reproduce the texture, believe me, I tried.

Looking back with kinder eyes, not all of this is bad though! It's alright.

HECK.

Some of it is even playful! They didn't get this photo submission, that's for sure.

Wade looks really beautiful as he becomes the background.

Famously, actress Christine Wawira shaved her head for this body painting. She really wanted me to get onto __INSERT SHOW__, and thought this would convince them.

It's not a skill I've really tried to master since then, but I had a lot of fun creating art with everyone involved in this mini side project.

What do you think, my friend? Love it, or leave it?
