If I were to make a private Discord/Telegram, which would you guys prefer? I'm thinking of making it available to all $10+ contributors, for us to be able to chat about whatever, whether it be about the content of my Patreon or otherwise! 

I really want to be able to connect with you guys more and kind of build a little community but.. To be honest I'm not that familiar with either of these things xD.

Which do you prefer? Why? Please share!

I think I’m going to go with telegram. Discord is better when there’s a ton of users and you want more control with different chats. For you I think telegram would be nice! Tojo’s art telegram channel has upwards of 40 users and it’s not too crazy. Though everyone’s there to chat about art and post stuff for a critique

I've never actually used telegram. So I can't say which is better. However, I can say that I do prefer discord over most other chat forums or services....So I guess that I will go with discord. Its been a neat place for me to chat with like minded people at a very casual level. However, if you plan to keep the discord behind a paywall, I don't imagine it getting very large. So, if you do decide on that medium, maybe make a text-chat for members who meet the 10$ patron requirement, but also have a public text-chat you can run for non-paying/lower tier supporters of yours? This way, you can get the most out of a discord server, by offering an easy to run/setup social network for your supporters. That appeals to both your patrons and less financially invested followers.

Thanks Wanderingwolf! Ahh it's tough.. I want to be able to talk with you guys more, especially because you're helping guide the content I make now, but it definitely seems like there are always lots of different choices for chat programs.I personally prefer Telegram and think it might be better at least in the beginning? I've thought about this a lot and I'll see about making a discord in the future, but maybe soon make a Telegram meanwhile? It does sound like a great idea to have a general discord server though with a channel reserved for higher tier supporters that would be a bit more personal. Thanks for your feedback and I'll announce it most likely in November!

That's probably a fair way to look at it, and I think I'll most likely just begin with a small Telegram channel and move on from there. If someday I have enough of a little community here, I'll add on the Discord!
