Mind Flayer Steps (Patreon)

Here's a step by step look at how I created the last image!

Sketch- I started the sketch during one of my streams! The feedback I got from the viewers was awesome and led to a strong rough sketch that I sent to the client.

Rough Color and Light- Usually I do rough colors and rough lighting in one step.  

More Color and Bloom- Lately this is the last step to do so set up my canvas.  Due to my hardware being super laggy lately I don't have the luxury to keep as many layers as I could before. So at this stage I set the colors I know I'm using for sure and start painting organically, using the eye dropper to pick the colors I've laid out.

Final Details- Textures, blurs, layer effects such as outer glows and bevel emboss come onto play here. Once I add all those things in I do a final 'paint over' to help glues those elements together so it doesn't look so 'cut and paste'.  Adding one more 'Difference' layer to push it the contrast more help solidify the whole thing.
