HardLife v0.26867:
* difficulty now affects encounter rates
- multiplies rates of enemies, stalkers, and vampires
- divides rates of random bills, lost wallets, and shopping baskets(*NYI)
* taunt action now also tones/damages abs (note, as before, attempting this with injured abs can greatly increase damage taken... but if your abs are strong enough, you can severely injure your opponent instead)
* the species table/parser now supports placeholders for text/non-numeric fields
- non-npc opponents now show gender in display-name
* support has been added for sub-zone encounter rate scaling
- encounter rate in workout area of gym is 3% of normal (6% of last build)
* Food now adds nutrition modifier (new positive modifier to counter effects of toxic products, such as DeviL abs, and eventual inclusion of poisons)
* items table simplified, onUse callback moved to separate table
* onUse support extended for all objects (using UIDs), not just items (forms basis for activated abilities for skills, powers, and devices)
* new version of onUse now also supports canceling if conditions not met, allowing for conditional use/equipping, and supporting effect-on-equip
* formula update - stat-modifier-overcharge:
- combined stat-modifier overcharge-cap implemented in anticipation of the introduction many new stackable stat-modifiers
- per-modifier bonus added to to permanent modifiers (unstack of modifier)- allows smaller gains once overcharge-cap has been hit (also serves as pre-cap training buff)
- net result is similar overall stats, with open ended support for new/upcoming methods of training/growth
* patched over null encounter bug (results in 'nothing' encounter rather than breaking the passage/game now)
* located and fixed negative exercise time bug
* link & hotkey [w] added to rehydrate while working out in the gym (provided you bring some to drink)
* link & hotkey [r] added to rest while working out in the gym
* link & hotkey [q] to check muscle tone at exercise list and gym homescreen
* muscle-groups now color-coded by %activation when muscle-status is called from/after a workout
* choice-lists now extended to 20 hotkeys 0-9 +Shift: "1234567890!@#$%^&*()"
* pressing [space] to continue after a (gym)workout now goes back to exercise list, instead of load-list
* navigation is now a menu, and can be called with the [z] key. (all menus have been arranged to the bottom row Z-M keys)
- for this reason, the menu-keys are now locked out when the sidebar is hidden. ([F2] Saves and [F3] Settings still work, but [F1] Guide is locked-out because it uses the menu-system interface to display) -- this happens during dangerous encounters, and automatically unlocks whenever the sidebar is shown OR you change passages
* feedback has finally been fixed... each passage transition will clear 1 item from the queue, but the entire queue will be shown when called (rarely goes above 3 items)
* gender-pronoun function redesigned and expanded to support many additional gender identifiers (future versions will cache a pronoun-table directly to the characters)
* combat UI now correctly scales with window size
* vampire power-rates finally balanced (was due to an operator bug)
* several items buffed/adjusted for difficulty scale
* Alicia's prices now scale with the amazon-index and the number of primal shards she's been given. The higher the index, the easier it is for her to get the reagents she needs to craft her inventory...
