The modest crew was able to replenish supplies without issue. Dr. Ferguson was impressed by Vrd’s experience as well as his adeptness with language. Ferguson invited Vrd to join them. And though reluctant about the whole thing, he was convinced. He seemed interested in learning about the interior of the bioship, that being Lauren.
“Are you alright with this?” Vrd asked her before boarding. The rest of the crew had already embarked.
“Indeed. I am a bioship. Carrying passengers is my purpose,” Lauren responded.
Vrd hesitated, then crouched down to her navel. He examined it carefully, with one finger at first, pressing in, exploring its depth. He pushed his hand through, then his arm, Lauren humming as she was stretched to accommodate him.
Vrd was careful and slow, Lauren reddening as more and more of him entered through her belly button. Vrd was larger than all of the other passengers, in fact, larger than her. Her system detected his intrusion, and rapidly struggled to adapt to accommodate him. Her belly swelled larger and larger, rolling forward and widening, as she wobbled, grunted, and struggled to remain balanced.
Once Vrd plopped fully inside her, Lauren felt as though all the air had been knocked from her lungs. She took several moments to learn to breathe again, her belly lurching and gurgling, still adapting and changing, as things shifted, squirmed, and wiggled inside her. Lauren moaned quietly as she waited for it to cease.
“Prepare for liftoff,” Ferguson’s command buzzed in her mind.
“Yes captain,” Lauren responded, adjusting her stance and setting her feet into the ground.

There were a couple of weeks of adventuring, aiding planets hoping for diplomatic negotiations, creating various new allies for the Guild and also creating communication links between different planets to establish intergalactic trade economies.
All of the crew was jolly and excited about the good work they were doing. At many of the planetary stops, alien technologists and scientists marveled at Lauren. They had never seen anything like her. Ferguson was always happy to provide tours of her interior. He wanted to spread word of his groundbreaking creation.
When the crew finally returned to earth, it was for a conference, during which Dr. Ferguson intended to present Lauren to the world. Lauren was incredibly excited, but also quite nervous.
She tried to enter Dr. Ferguson’s lab at a crouch. On her hands and knees, her belly pressed hard into the ground, impeding her. When she tried to sort of crabwalk inside, her belly couldn’t get through doorframe, instead just prodding into it.
“We will bring you in through the garage,” the Doctor suggested.
Lauren found that she was still steadily growing, and had gone up another foot in height since her stop on Vrd’s planet. Her body had grown more voluptuous and muscular, perhaps to support her belly which was immensely larger. Sometimes she thought of it as a bolder, and others, as a small globe against her, protruding outwards several feet, wider than her flanks, overflowing her lap when she was seated, while pushing her breasts towards her chin.
Earth’s gravity was wearisome. She had grown quite accustomed to the weightlessness of space, and her body wasn’t meant for this heaviness. She squinted down to see her crew against the bright light of the earth’s sun, which she had also become unused to. She wasn’t sure she knew how to be human anymore. She wasn’t sure if she considered herself to be one.

Lauren waited in her dressing room, which, like most spaces on earth, was too small for her. Her belly button was large and distended, pushing out in the tight frock she was wearing. The beige material hugged her snugly, so to pronounce every curve of her when she went on stage. Long slits on either side displayed her muscled legs.
She sat against the wall in a corner, legs spread wide to make way for her massive, heaving belly, which was perched on the floor, shuddering as though it had a motor inside. Maybe it did.
Idly, Lauren wondered what it was like inside of her. She cradled her belly with her hand.
There was a sharp knock, before Dr. Ferguson stepped in. He was dressed smartly in what Lauren knew was his best suit. “Ready Lauren?”
Lauren heaved herself up. It was difficult, but she managed, her muscles bracing against the weight, and her back arching for balance. She drew a deep breath and followed Dr. Ferguson out. Absently, she noticed that she was waddling now.
Lauren’s pulse quickened as she stepped onto the stage after Ferguson, into the polite murmurs and applause of an expansive crowd. But as she stopped in center stage, she registered as the volume mitigated, until there was no more clapping or speaking. No one made a sound, and though she could not make out individual faces, Lauren could sense the consensus astonishment.
“I present to you my greatest invention to date,” said Ferguson proudly, nodding towards Lauren. “The human bioship.”
