[ 2022 Commission Information ] (Patreon)

Hello all. As promised, here’s the long awaited information on the upcoming opening of a new commission batch. I have tried to condense the information as clearly, comprehensively and succinctly as possible so please read to the end (including the Extended FAQ linked at the bottom) before you ask me any questions and do let me know if there’s something important I’ve missed so that I may rectify it.

Application window: Friday, April 22 (1pm BST) to Sunday, April 24 (1pm BST). No applications will be accepted after the cutoff time.

Slots opening: Aprox. 20

Type of slots: This will be dependent on the applicant’s tier. Extreme and Advanced patrons will be eligible for Busts, Half Bodies and Full bodies in Lineart, Flat color or Full color styles, with a max. of 2 characters per piece; Intermediate and Easy patrons will be eligible for Busts and Half Bodies in Lineart of Flat color styles, with a max. of 1 character per piece.

Additionally, I will be accepting NSFW requests* this batch via the use of the new “NSFW token” reward coming to StarStickers on May 1st.

Pricing: You can find all pricing information here. All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) - you can convert them to your currency using a tool like this. Please make sure you factor the exchange rate between the GBP and your local currency before you make your application.

A new “25% Discount token”** will be introduced via StarStickers on May 1st for those who successfully claim a slot.

Who will be eligible to apply:

• All patrons who’ve been pledged since April 2022 and who didn’t receive a commission in 2021/2022.

How will the slots be allocated:

Among all applicants in this batch, slots will be distributed as follows:

Aprox. 15 slots will be distributed amongst all Extreme and Advanced tier patrons.

• 5 slots will be secured by top pledging patrons (either by tier or pledge longevity)
• 5 slots will be selected randomly among those who applied to this batch
• 5 slots will be a “dealer’s choice”, handpicked according to the priority list below.

Aprox. 5 slots will be allocated to patrons on the Intermediate and Easy tiers.

• 3 slots will be selected randomly among those who applied to this batch
• 2 slots will be a “dealer’s choice”, handpicked according to the priority list below.

“Dealer’s choice” priority:

Some of the slots in this batch will be picked according to my own creative criteria and affinity for the ideas being offered. This is both to give an opportunity to a wider range of people as well as for me to develop my own artistic voice in a way I know will help me produce my best work.

With that in mind, please do not feel compelled to conform to this list if you have a very clear image of what you want. Most slots will be picked either randomly or by longevity and this is just a way to encourage more unique ideas and concepts that people might not be aware they can choose.

Creative priority:

• Emotive or Symbolic pieces
• Dark or Moody or Greyscale themes
• Artistic or dynamic concepts
• Mild spice***
• NPC art

I also work best with a halfway approach between creative freedom and guidance, so I will usually lean into people who have a solid idea but trust me to tweak and improve it according to the above.

Low priority:

• Standing or static poses
• “Gentle smiles” and “Just chilling” concepts
• Major outfit complexity or incompatibility between pose and gear
• Overly convoluted ideas or Poorly defined ideas

Not accepted:

• Official concept art “swaps” (ie, introducing a WoL into the Newfound Adventure poster)
• Memes or ideas done many times over within a fandom
• Explicit NSFW
• More than 2 characters per piece
• Complete lack of direction in the name of “creative freedom”

If you are concerned about your idea falling into any of these labels, please contact me before making assumptions.

Application timeline:

In order to give myself some space to go through all the applications and introduce relevant rewards in the system (NSFW token, 25% Discount Token), I have designed the following timescale.

• April 22 to April 24: Application window
• April 25 to April 29: Application review and selection (I will be abroad during this time)
• April 30 to May 1: Implementation of new rewards (25% Discount, NSFW token, Outfit design, Ultimate Mystery Box, Original pencil sketch) into StarStickers and points cap increase from 500 to 1000.
• May 2: Publication of final slot allocation list
• May 4: Confirmation of all slots and designated order for the first batch.
• May 9 to 11: First batch invoices sent.

How can I apply?

Extreme and Advanced patrons can apply here.

Intermediate and Easy patrons can apply here.

These forms will remain open until Sunday, April 24 at 1pm BST to give everyone ample chance to fill it in their own time. As slots will be allocated following the above criteria, there is no need to rush as the order of applications will not affect the selection process.

After the cutoff day/time, the form will be closed and no further applications will be accepted.

Additional information:

• Those who apply but fail to secure a slot in this batch will be placed on a waiting list and given priority should any accepted slots fall through. Should not enough slots become available, they will be welcome to apply again in future openings.
• Once allocated, commissions will be worked on 3-4 pieces at a time. All commissions are charged in full a week in advance of commencing the project.
• The price of a commission is a separate fee to the price of your Patreon tier. You can find my price chart here and you can apply for a discount through StarStickers up to a week before your commission starts.

I expect there will be many questions arising from all of this, so please read this document with further answers that I’ve compiled based on the most common enquiries. If by the end your question is not resolved, then please shoot me a DM and I’ll do my best to clarify things for you.
