Altan Tumet - [ FFXIV Reward ] (Patreon)

So way back in September I hosted a little event on twitter to celebrate hitting 10k followers and picked two characters for portraits. I finally got some time to finally get on with that, so here's the first of them!

I am very pleased how this one came out and it did pose a bit of an epiphany for me, in sort of revealing what style I want to lean into more. This year I've bounced around a lot between styles and tried a bit of everything, but the lack of consistency is starting to bother me and I think I kinda want to start being a bit more strategic about my work.

To be honest, this is the kind of style I wanted to draw Hilda in, but I got sidetracked and ended up going for a much bolder, heavy-duty linework that I'm not entirely happy with - whereas this one definitely speaks so much more to me. So I'm going to take that as a lesson moving into 2022 to try to formalise my artist voice a bit more.
