OCTOBER-NOVEMBER ART CHALLENGE (Patreon)

Mandatory "What is an art challenge?":  Art challenges are a casual way for everyone to get involved in doing something creative, with no pressure or need to do a perfect job. It's not a contest or competition- everyone is welcome and all patrons receive the same rewards. Furthermore, it's not just open to artists, but to writers, video editors, sculptors or anyone with two hands and a creative thought in mind.

There are two kinds of people who enjoy autumn: those who live in the Pinterest delusion of tanning leaves, warm blankets, steaming cups of tea while selectively ignoring that they’re more likely to end up with wet socks, frizzy hair and disappointingly expensive seasonal beverages, and those who leave out cookies for the eldritch horror under the bed and go to sleep dreaming of waking up in the Upside Down and being haunted by dark haired girls with a penchant for wells.

It is the latter that we dedicate this special double month challenge to. But not to be remiss in acknowledging the big spherical elephant in the room, we will be adding a secondary theme for those of you with one brain cell too many in rabbit-man utopia: Endwalker

So, here it is:

Theme A: Once Upon a Nightmare

Theme B: Moon’s Haunted

You may pick one, pick both, interpret them at will. Want to rewrite a fairy tale to be the gruesome, cautionary tale against going outside or speaking to anyone that the brothers Grimm intended? Go for it. Go full reaper and become wheat’s arch nemesis? Why not. Scribble pentagrams on the wall as the shadows lurking in the doorway are instructing you to? Hell ye- wait…

So how do I participate?

This challenge is open to ALL SKILLS and MEDIA, such as:

• Drawing and Crafting
• Writing
• Photography and screenshotting (see rules for specific instructions)
• Music composition
• 3D Rendering
• Others (DM me if you have an idea not listed)

Core rules apply to all entries:

• The work must be created specifically for the challenge
• It must be obvious that enough time and effort was put into the entry
• Along with your entry, you must explain your reasoning in applying the theme to your piece

Your entry must meet these requirements to qualify for points. If your entry does not meet the requirements, you will be informed of what you need to change or adapt.

Where do I post my WIPs (Discord/Patreon supporters only)?

You may post the WIPs of your work in #art-talk just to share and #art-feedback for critique. Once the image is complete, please post it in #art-challenge.

What do I get for participating (Patreon supporters only)?

As this is a double month challenge, the reward for entering will be 10 points
