Finally getting around to posting the promised timelapses! This one is for this piece I posted a while ago.

This timelapse is quite unique in that it was one of those rare times in which I really struggled to nail down the hair. Pretty much from minute 3 to minute 9 all I do is redraw and redraw and redraw the hair until I either give up or settle on the final option.

I think it was especially hard because of the feral nature of the expression. Hair does a lot to convey the message you want to portray - if the hair is too soft and flowy, the expression loses tension, but if it's too spiky then it doesn't look like the wind is slowly picking up. There's a fine balance to these things and although I usually love drawing hair, this piece nearly made me lose mine.
