JULY ART CHALLENGE (Patreon)

Mandatory "What is an art challenge?":  Art challenges are a casual way for everyone to get involved in doing something creative, with no pressure or need to do a perfect job. It's not a contest or competition- everyone is welcome and all patrons receive the same rewards. Furthermore, it's not just open to artists, but to writers, video editors, sculptors or anyone with two hands and a creative thought in mind.

You ever wonder about the unwritten possibilities of every universe that never was by the virtue of those that were?

Of course you have, which is why your creative backlog consists of 872 AUs featuring the same OCs you’ve had since the days of the fashionable mullet. Don’t think I don’t see you.

That’s why I’m throwing you a bone- like the benevolent butcher that I am and offering you this month’s art challenge:

Another time, Another place

Go on and pluck those wooly little characters out of their natural habitat and shove them back into High School dystopia, or drop them into the clutches of ignominy by turning their heroic careers into a particularly vibrant LARP dream.

Or if you’re feeling especially milquetoast just give them a wig and a pair of contact lenses and set them out on a journey to rejoin their One True Soulmate™ who they passionately tethered themselves in the throes of a Bad Idea™ .

And as much as I am not one to bestow boons upon originality, I am infusing this challenge with a disqualifier for anyone who creates yet another WoL!Azem production- upon which I will personally mail you a sardine and demand that you beat yourself with it until you like it.*

Now go forth. Or backwards. Or Jearimy Bearimy.

*You won’t actually be disqualified, but if you do this I will most definitely allocate your points while making disgruntled art mom noises.

So how do I participate?

This challenge is open to ALL SKILLS and MEDIA, such as:

• Drawing and Crafting
• Writing
• Photography and screenshotting (see rules for specific instructions)
• Music composition
• Others (DM me if you have an idea not listed)

Core rules apply to all entries:

• The work must be created specifically for the challenge
• It must be obvious that enough time and effort was put into the entry
• Along with your entry, you must explain your reasoning in applying the theme to your piece

Your entry must meet these requirements to qualify for points. If your entry does not meet the requirements, you will be informed of what you need to change or adapt.

You may post the WIPs of your work in #art-talk just to share and #art-feedback for critique. Once the image is complete, please post it in #art-challenge.
