As much as I work digitally 90% of the time, I still find it comforting to get the base sketch done on paper. Even though it couldn't look further from the finished piece, it almost gives me a sense of reassurance- sort of like a foundation.

In the timelapse you can see how I work over it and then refine it over time, building on it until it looks completely different.

The best part of this piece: the hair. I'm never quite as happy as when I get to draw a metric shit-ton of hair.
