If you were here last month, you might remember my very concise, carefully optimistic update reporting the uneventfulness of April and the hopes of a quiet May.

That was a mistake. I may as well have set up a circle of candles and runes challenging karma to take a punt at my idealism.

Introducing: Household Infestations.

Did you know that there’s a type of mite that lives off of nesting birds and that, once said birds depart, will confidently amble inside the nearest source of warmth from where they can explode into a colony of thousands within the space of 10 hours?

So with that, I am going to sit pretty and keep my mouth firmly shut and hope the universe takes its spanking paddle somewhere else.

All successful rewards from last month have now been allocated. Additionally, I’ve decided to open yet another small batch this month, between the 5th and 8th of June.

Please note, however, that not all options will be available this time around. In the last few openings there has been an influx of high complexity rewards, so in order to maintain a balance between easier and more time-consuming pieces, Couple pieces and Ultimate Mystery Boxes will remain unavailable until future openings.

As the motive behind the tier lock was to restrict new pledges beyond ability to fulfill rewards - and given the recent downturn in pledges - the limit on tiers has now been removed for all but the Mentor, Extreme and Ultimate tiers.

With that, the current available slots on limited tiers are:

Ultimate Tier: 1 slot
This tier entitles you to 100 points a month on StarStickers to spend on rewards such as custom illustrations, the new prints or artbook (which there are few left of). Additionally, it also gives you priority when booking illustrated rewards. This tier is currently limited to 5 spots.

In closing

And so as I sit here, casually ticking more boxes in my 2024 disaster bingo, I continue to work as quickly as I can on pushing things along.

To that end, one of the things I’m resolved to commit to going forward is reducing the complexity of my work by consolidating my style into a less time-consuming process.

In a tangible sense, this might mean that some of the pending commissions and rewards might need to be reviewed and modified to better fit a timeframe in which they can be completed in a week instead of three - as this, on top of everything else, is largely what’s making my pace so uneven. That said, I don’t think that this is something that will change much for anyone here and if anything, the biggest hurdle will be talking myself out of the conviction that every piece would look so much better with 15 hours worth of flowers drawn into it.
