Andrew

Thank you!

Amelgar

hmm... Viv was a medic so it seems a bit weird that she felt useless when people were getting treated.

Melting Sky

I take it the old man knows something of Solphis since he seemed to take her at her word when she claimed she had the means to help them reclaim the lost legacy of their culture.

Mecanimus

It's because she doesn't have any of her gear and the soldiers are healing themselves with magic. Not sure how to make it obvious though.

The Stars Align

Thanks for the chapter, Viv is going to have one hell of an impact by accident (or design?) She is introducing the enlightenment, its philosophy and principles, to a medieval world. Even the gods will be surprised, on what Power and reach these ideas have.

Thanks for the chapter :)

Did Viv ever quick Sophis on how the Empire ended ? Or is Solfis himself ignorant ? Hopefully Arthur is just having growing-up pains and didn't eat something bad.

Perhaps something like this: Exhausted after the battle, she watched as the inquisitors judged the few survivors. The inquisitor staggered back, grimazing after what appears to have been an unusually bad case. His steps on the guts of a disemboweled marauder. Somehow still alive, the marauder wakes up, and with a scream lunges with his knife, hitting the distracted inquisitor in the leg severing the femoral artery. Seeing the blood spraying at high volume with every heart beat, her old training takes over. She lunges towards him, ramming a finger in the artery to limit the flow as she removes her belt to make a more permanent if improvised tourniquet, knowing every second counts in situations like these. Focusing on the wound, she ignores the inquisitor decapitating the marauder. Nearly ready to place the tourniquet, he calmly asks. what are you doing? Please remove your finger, it will interfere with the healing potion. Spending half a second thinking he must be in shock, before slowly realizing, perhaps its not him, but her acting irrationally. She stands, looking around her, watching as many of her soldiers recover in moments from what would have taken years long rehab or worse all around her, laughing as they do. Years of training, finely honed and battle tested, but utterly useless here. She felt it was somehow unfair, and thought back to the people she had lost in battle on earth, how many could have been saved by a single potion.

Mecanimus

I think I made it pretty clear lol. The empire ended when a magical cataclysm killed off the entire land and most of its population.

lenkite

Yes, that was obviously known. I meant the cause of the [Magical Cataclysm]. An experiment ? Two [Archmages] duelling ?

Mecanimus

Man just write a web novel lol, you have the motivation and we always seek new talents.
