We both came in knowing the bare minimum about Selena's life, and BOY did this hit.  So much charm, so much vibrance.. and of course, the tragic end.  This made for a gripping & vibrant piece of cinema.  What'd you guys think??

When John asked, where is this? When they were on the little bridge was here in San Antonio on the Riverwalk. Selena is still a huge deal here, and yea, not sure if yall looked into it, but the family stuff was/still is, much more complicated

Oh man I love this movie and Selena so much. I grew up watching this movie all the time. My dad was Mexican (we’re also Texan) and was obsessed with Selena and her music. Which I guess rubbed off on me too! 😂 I was pleasantly surprised to see y’all react to this. I’ll probably be listening to Selena for the next week now haha

Finally had the time to devote to the watch along. Love this film. So many feels. I get so emotional throughout. I am half Latina and I didn't grow up speaking Spanish. I feel so insecure when I do, especially around people that speak Spanish fluently because my accent isn't perfect and I don't talk fast enough. I write better in Spanish than I speak it. I totally get what you're saying Greg about not feeling like you fit in because I've felt that all my life and also constantly get asked what my ethnicity is. It's hard wanting to connect with a culture that's a part of me and never feeling quite "authentic" enough. Anyways, as for the film l love the artistic moments with the editing throughout, it gives me chills several times. I love how it breathes and gives us the time in her childhood too. And I think Jennifer Lopez embodies Selena's spirit so well. Oh and the outfits 🥰 This was a pleasant surprise and I'm glad you guys enjoyed it more than you anticipated you would. Loved your reaction and your discussions as always. Also, this is random but John literally made me laugh out loud with the line from School of Rock about Spider 😂 Love you guys 🖤

Hi Greg, is your wife mexican american or of Hispanos (descendants of Spanish Colonials of Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico) descent? My mom is from a Hispanos family from Santa Fe ( my dad's 1st generation Italian)- I initially thought you were Hispanic.
