I know this episode is kind of corny but I actually really like this one. I love Donna, I love yogi Sam, I love Dean in a hairnet…it’s kind of just a filler episode, but it’s a good time.

I think what the writers were attempting with this story was a parallel between Love and eating. Sam and the woman phish taco are trying to set limits on their brother. Sam by reducing his love to just business and the woman by reducing what her brother can eat. The brother lashes out and goes out to find more Dean all episode lashes out at this by making remarks and even wanting to kill a innocent monster. The phishtaco woman in the end hurts her brother because he goes to far. Sam hurts dean emotionally when dean won't admit he went to far.

Yay the intro of Donna! I love her so much. It is interesting to see how some episodes people appreciate the comedy (yellow fever) but some episodes people just don't vibe with it (dog dean afternoon) Sometimes the writers take their whole Sam book smart almost lawyer, superior to Dean street smart a bit too far. Sam just sticking that knife into Dean's abandonment issues in the end is always rough. Jensen's face in that lat shot hurts.

Thank you guys for talking about the body dysmorphia subject matter of the episode. So many people struggle with it, including me, and while there were parts I’d change about the episode, Donna’s parts felt grounded and realistic about something many of us can relate to. I LOVE Donna and the actress who plays her – Don’t get me wrong, I love the crazy/lore-based characters, but it’s nice to have a grounded character every now and then. Yeahh, season 9 has its moments but I enjoyed it the most when I approached the episodes as M.O.T.W. episodes rather than heavily plot-driven. Season 9 can sometimes feel slow, but I think it had the challenge of being a “transition season”? Don’t know how to describe it but I feel like it takes place in between some extremely pivotal times in the show so the writers are taking the time to introduce new recurring characters, create space for new villains, and test the waters with Sam and Dean’s relationship in an environment that isn’t detrimental to an overarching plot (just yet). Long-story-short: a lot of season 9 is slow-ish paced or may seem unrelated to the overall plot but I feel like a lot of that might be intentional? So that the stakes and the story line in the next couple of seasons have much more weight to them. But then again, I might be reading to much into it hahaha! I still really liked season 9 and the new characters we got to meet but I’m with you, John! I just want Sam and Dean to drive off into the sunset again!! UGH. I guess we can all wait for them to be brothers again... Ok I'll shut up now... Love you guys and I hope you all are staying happy and healthy! Now get some sleep!! 😊

Sam not only wouldn't, he didn't. He coped with the loss of Dean instead of trying his best to bring Dean back when he was blasted into purgatory. They are just different. Dean thinks life is the most important, as long as they are together, nothing can't be fixed; while Sam wants respect, mutual understanding and legacy is more important than life sorta thing.
