Hi John, once again I have to tell you that I thoroughly enjoy your reactions. I actually stopped watching AOS when it first aired around S4. So this is all new and I'm watching for the first time with you. I never made it to seeing them in space. I remembered about Ward and that Bobbi, Hunter and Lincoln were only part of the team for a short time and during this rewatch, I remembered Daisy and The Ghost Rider, but I think I stopped watching with the androids. Watching this episode made me realize that the Fitz that they are going to look for, didn't marry Jemma and that makes me sad that he missed that experience even if they do it again. I wonder if he'd do his vows the same... Anyway, S5 was interesting and now looking forward to finish watching this series. Once again, I'm gonna ask if you'd consider reacting to Outlander. I know it's not Sci-Fi or Horror, but it is Fantasy and from all the other reactions I've watched on the channel, I think you might like Outlander. Would you react to the first few episodes at least and then decide?

I love this Show. Yeah I got a little bit confused too watching the Scene with Fitz back then. I was like "I would be balling right now but somethings holding me back & Idk what - till that twist came and I went like "Ahhhhhh" But not as confused as "Frozen Fitz" probably will be cause he doesn't know what shit went down and yes he also didn't had the mental Breakdown, so.. thats a relief. xD And yeah for a Series Finale this would've been very good but I still was super excited that it got renewed for 2 more Seasons. I wasn't ready for it to end & checked the Internet daily on renewals back then :D On to Season 6!

I finally caught up with the episodes in time for the finale. Since this was meant to be the final episode I loved how everything tied back to the first episode in a way. For example: the fact Centipede serum was the solution and that Talbot reflected Mike (his relationship with his son and his desire to be a hero despite his villainous actions). Even things like Coulson dying from the old injury and leaving the team to go on without him felt like a book end to the story that started in that first episode. I'm glad it continued but it would've been an amazing finale had it ended there.

Love this season/series finale to death. Like the 5th season of Buffy, this was filmed to be the end of the series, hence the title and although I am glad we got 2 extra season this episode would have be an appropriate ending. So many great moments in this episode from the initial discussion about heal Coulson/kill Talbot through Deke's speech about the team willing to die for each other, Robin's 'something different' and then Coulson's 'retirement' party. Jemma's speech about 'not moving on' is so heartfelt and rings true to those of us that have lost loved ones. The writing in this episode was great and just goes to show that the writers of AoS are sadists and love to make us suffer. The way they left us hanging before revealing that there is another Fitz to be rescued out in space was truly uncalled for but the relief afterwards makes us let them off a little bit. All in all, I would probably rank this as my favourite season. Loved your reactions and look forward to your reactions to season 6 & 7.

"Something's different." Chills 1x22: Beginning of the End 5x22: The End Love the callbacks to season 1 throughout season 5. I thought the showrunners finally decided to break the fanbase by killing off one half of FitzSimmons. I thought (another) Whedon strikes again. Even though Frozen Fitz is still there, Dead Fitz is the one that got married so it's still sad after the fact. I love that the showrunners gave us a possible series finale, but left enough crumbs for another possible season. Seasons 6 and 7 are shorter 13-episode seasons, but they are connected and filmed back-to-back so it feels like one season.

As he who remains would say "reincarnation, baby." As this came out before Loki the term variant is not used but for this discussion i will use it. The fitz during season 5 who died is a variant to the loop timeline because that was never supposed to happen. He is supposed to live and have his daughter like the season repeatedly said. So he was our Fitz until that split. He is basically like classic loki and he who remains. Coulson said to fitz in 5x12 that people need hope and something to believe in and that is what this finale leaves you with. Hope that they will find Fitz which is also full circle to the beginning of the season with him going to space to find the them. As we see in the what if series every choice can spit out a different timeline so to me this season ends with our team splitting from the sacred timeline and becoming another what if type story. Simmons' time is not fixed comment can apply to that as well. Everybody on the team broke the loop in different ways. Mack and polly were saved by may. Yoyo revived coulson Daisy took the serum, killed talbot and stopped the world from cracking. Fitz died And simmons is going to wake him up early And coulson gave daisy the serum. Season 6 and 7 is a mixed bag and the writers described it as like an expansion pack to a videogame. With all the dark that came before it they change things up and i can not wait for you to see it. This finale is a ending for Coulson for sure while the last two seasons wrap everyone else's stories with two shorter seasons 13 episodes each. I also would recommend giving Agent carter a watch in your free time (if that exists lol) Also go back to the after credit scene in 5x15 with fitzsimmons and listen to the convo about the knife. Then if you see the scene in 5x22 after that you can see the symbolism because deke says that is his room at first and it is representing the future timeline having two fitzs in it by showing two of his knifes on the table. The damaged and undamaged knife. Then at the end when simmons enters that room it is no longer like the future timeline (not filled with deke things) and on the table is one knife that is undamaged and simmons gets it representing going to get her fitz before he has the mental breaks and is damaged.

Almost forgot this, look at the very first shot of season 5 (picture on Enoch's fridge drawn by Robin of 2 people on a beach with palm trees) and then compare it with the very last shot of the finale (Coulson and May on a beach in Tahiti).

Robert English

Not to disparage the other two seasons, I accept this as the series finale. It really feels like the crescendo of the overall story. With all the callbacks this season, this makes it seem like a tying up the loose ends on the big bow before it’s finished. This show is such a present to all those who got into it. Seasons 1 through 5, for me, are such a perfect journey for any MCU fan. From this point forward, pretty much all MCU references are gone and it becomes too self contained for my taste.

Connie Tsang

Jemma saying the team doesn't move on is a nice little coincidental call out to what Cap says in Endgame in some ways. In the future, where old Robin is residing in the Zephyr, you can see a picture of the island with the 2 palm trees. Never noticed till this watchalong. So grateful we have 2 more seasons!

Eleven Claws

Yea this is precisely why I can't get through season 6 no matter how hard I try. It became a completely different type of sci-fi show instead of the beautiful sort of ground-level version of the MCU that gave it a lot of its charm. Maybe it moved on the way it felt it needed to, I don't know, but it sadly didn't work for me

John Wedig

Yep, this episode makes me tear up to be sure. The Robin stuff always gets me, and Mac being there for Fitz is a beautiful moment. Also, I do recommend watching some Agent Carter before you reach Season 7. It's not totally necessary, but I do find that having seen that show heightened the experience for me. Just a suggestion, of course, I know you guys get busy :)

Nathan Van Slyke

Man I just realized that it doesn't matter how many times I've watched this show. When I get to this season and especially this episode, I always find myself crying over the Fitz death and the Coulson retirement.
