2021-11-30 21:23:14 Great reaction, The Doctor who was in the Diner after his death is the same Doctor from the previous season, he is the Doctor we watched up to this point, the one at the beginning is a Doctor from 200 years in his future. Also The Doctor asked Amy to say something important to make him trust that the 1969 mission needs to happen and that is when she said Fish Fingers and Custard, As far as The Doctor knowing River, he has only met her 3 previous times before this episode(Library, Angels, & Pandorica), and doesn’t know who she is to him in the future, that is why he couldn’t trust her and asked who she is and who she killed because he doesn’t know her enough to to trust her

Late to the party - recent sub and just binge watched a selection of S1-4 and all of S5 - this season opener is one of my favourite of all season openers and I really enjoyed your reaction. IN fact, I think your reactions are some of the best I've seen: you pick up on subtleties and throwaway lines that many reactors miss and your comments on production, sound and structure are really interesting. Also - very funny.

There's some suggestion that he may have met her at some point between the library and the Byzantium, but we just haven't seen it. When the Doctor says 'we keep meeting in the wrong order' in the Time of Angels suggests he's seen her more than just that one time in the Library. It also gets mentioned in one of the episode novelisations. But he definitely doesnt know yet who she is to him.
