Sorry, guys! For some reason Vimeo isn't loading the proper thumbnail for this one - will update later! (...not sure if that even really matters to you guys lol, but it matters to ME!!!)

A fun little side story "to the beach!"

I don’t think your girlfriend can understand the deeper meaning of this show. It’s not just a side story. You have to understand where Zuko is at mentally. He says he’s angry at himself because of the things he has done. That scene was necessary for the story

MZ

Yeah, I completely agree. It is not a filler at all. This is easily one of my favorite episodes in ATLA because it is a character study for our villains. It shows the emotional struggle that Zuko is going through really well. He knows that he made a mistake, but it is very hard for him to accept. I think ATLA is a show that you need to rewatch a lot to get certain emotional and character details. It has so many layers it is insane

Also, I am new here and I don`t know if it okay to post links to other videos. But this guy explains really well why The Beach episode is important! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AYsdSMAODo

It’s okay if Olivia doesn’t react the same as you. She has her own opinions which everyone does. I happen to agree with her. So let’s not ever shame anyone, but especially not Greg’s fiancée, cool?

Lorenzo Baxter

No one is shaming anyone, but there IS such a thing as an incorrect opinion. Imagine if someone thought the Storm episode was filler. Thats just not correct. It's totally cool that she didn't interpret it in the same way, but this episode is very important indeed.

I feel like if you're watching this series for the first time, this episode does seem like filler. However, once we get to certain points down the line you realize it was actually setting up some very important (and awesome) character development moments. Let's not be so critical of people's opinions or interpretations guys. 🙃

This is one of my favorite episodes, because it is a very deep character study. It sets up the ending to the character's arcs super well. Overall, this show is very fascinating to watch as a kid growing up, and now as an adult. When I was a kid watching it air live, I empathized with the characters emotions so much. However, as an adult now, the angsty emotions are more comical. Sometimes I do feel like I am in the minority, but I really like and respect Mai and Zuko as a couple. They could just stand to talk a bit more.

olivia really doesnt like to be challenged lol
